Default what mod next?????

Been a while since i modded something else on my Z just curious what some other people would do next......

Currently.......
Tilton flywheel/ street clutch
350EVO 3.9 gears...
Rogue short shifter...
Injen Exhaust..
Crawford Cats....
Injen intake....
TS reflash....
Kinetix plenum.....

I was thinking maybe cams...... but for the 2000 of parts and install thats half way to a supercharger.... just the stillen though without inter-cooler.....cant have too much HP because of the street clutch limits..... but since I have a TS reflash i would have to get the ECU reflashed back to stock fuel setting right???

anyone know how the stillen SC controls the extra fuel it needs....?? and timing.....

Basically......cams and headers....probably 3000-4000 installed depending on brand.....maybe ill get 290whp...

Or SuperC maybe 330whp....

and the cost is close.......

Any opinions????

What about a UR Pully Kit, Headers, or EVO350 Throttle body?

This is what I have now plus the TS re-flash and my results:

The mod that brings the most hp are the cams, but I think you will need to do the headers too, to take more advantage of them. The good thing about the cams is that if you go with JWT they are very good with FI if you decide later that route.

Definitely get a crank pulley - I personally wouldn't go FI until I had the cash to build the motor.

also something to keep in mind, if you are going to go with turbochargers, getting headers is a waste of money (will be replaced with exhaust manifolds and downpipes), and if you're looking at a super charger then getting an underdrive crank pulley is a waste of money (smaller pulley == less boost)

FWIW

Im gonna call Techno Square to ask some question about the flash they did for me......... Im getting a quote on the SC next week also... i have a lot to plan........

One reason i want the SC is because Im scared the Plenum I have will be destroyed when I take it off....... Because of the tread lock it came with.... A SC would just replace that

never mind - you're looking at a stillen SC.

don't you need a custom hood with the stillen SC?

Not necessarily, the Turbonetics kit uses any headers that fit in the stock location.

Im probably going with the Stillen SC......it amounts to less labor and time...... I already have a spare hood so im gonna use the cowl option........ Im gonna do the work so it makes more sense to use my time efficently... also you get more HP per dollar...and the stillen kit will max out my clutch.... it would take so many hours to install cams and headers probably about 20 hours then the throttle body and pullies....... and the stillen kit takes about 12....... thats a weekend...... all I have to do is figure out what to do with my ECU because its flashed for all my N/A mod's..... im sure the timing is advanced too much for a SuperCharged car also......

You may want to consider the Turbonetics kit. It's about $4750, there is a group buy on it for about $4300. There is a high-flow cat kit and a catless kit. They use an ECU reflash for engine management. It uses a Walbro fuel pump and has 380cc fuel injectors. Install time is 8-10 hours. Plus it has more potential. It sounds like the perfect kit for you.

I have injen dual exhaust........ might be like a few hundred to get modified....... and i already have my ECU reflashed....... if they could do a package to minus the ECU flash it might be a better deal......

On another note my clutch cant handle that much power..... i only need about 330 wheel horse power....dont they do like 380 WHP

And I have a light weight flywheel and the 3.9 gears....... my car screams N/A now....... i just want a little more kick.......

The reflash is to adjust A/F ratio, timing, boost, etc. So you could set the boost at what you want.

The reflash is to serve as engine management, not so much about adding power, that's what the turbo is for.

It'd probably cost about 50-100 bucks to get a small reverse y-pipe made.

But, do what you want.

I like your idea.........dont get me wrong or anything...... i just need to wait to see if i can get a setup with only 330whp....and research the price of a y pipe..........

the main reason for the stillen is the non-intercooled option that only provides a little over 300whp......and the 3700 price....

You're gonna be running a heavily modified supercharged Z in Hawaii and are considering NOT running an intercooler?!? Good luck...

Hawaii isn't that hot. 80-85 everyday - it's paradise. shorts and short sleave shirt weather year round.

I thought it was hotter than that... still dangerous to run a supercharged and further heavily modded Z without an intercooler in that heat, as the added strain on the engine from the mods will cause more heat, especially from a supercharger. Definitely used the 10w-50.

Hmmmmmmmmmm........so pretty much I would be better off with cams, headers, pulley and a throttle body, grounding wire...... put me at 290whp........ then a small shot "O" nitrous...... 330WHP....

If heat will be that much of an issue must change plans....... dont want to inter-cool because of overpowering my Z....and If I was gonna spend 5800 on a kit(Stillen stage 2) I would get a single turbo......more power per dollar....

So I guess all motor for now......then Nitous later....

Arent discussions helpful

Either get some headers and a Vortech supercharger, or go all out and go with a TT.

Is this a daily driver? If so you should be able to run 7-10 psi just fine on stock internals.
