Default Zeitronix & Stock Wideband O2 sensors

Hi,

I have bought the Zeitronix unit along with a Wideband O2 sensor. Instead of adding a bung to put this O2 sensor, can I use the signal from the stock O2 sensor. Which pin from the stock ECU would I need to tap onto? My car is a 2004.5 G35 (ULEV2) and I think it has wideband O2 sensors (please correct if I'm wrong).

Thanks!

Anyone know the answer? I'll be installing it in the next few weeks.

Thanks!

wish I could help.. I'm about to add a J&S also. I'll probably just add the bung as not to complicate the ecu wiring any more than I have too.

PS: Where did you buy yours from & how muchdid you pay??

I bought the Zeitronix unit during the GroupBuy a few months ago in preparation for the APS TT. I have bought the additional O2 sensor too, but if the stock sensor (already wideband) is good enough and can be used, I'd do that instead of installing the Zeitronix sensor (Bosh).

Thanks!

I believe that you DO need to install a new bung and O2 sensor into the cat.

I just added the AEM wideband AF gauge to my car. When I asked if I could use one of the two stock O2 sensors, I was told that the stock O2 sensors would not give an accurate reading and had to have the new sensor installed.

IMHO, even if it is possible to use the stock O2 sensor, a lot rides on the accuracy of the gauges and saving about an hour of labor is not worth the risk.

You need to find out what kind of wideband o2 came with the newer cars.
Zeitronix uses the Bosch LSU 4 (model 7057). Here's a picture:

The part number is stamped around the outside of the sensor (at least on the bosch unit). The pinouts for the LSU 4 is located at:

lsu4 pinouts

I bought a replacement from 1stVwParts.com for $38 instead of the $59 from zeitronix.

good luck and tell us when brand widewide band o2 you have...
