Exclamation Does oil pressure drop after an install of a higher capicity oil pan?

I just got a ARC Oil pan installed, which holds an extra quart and my Defi Oil Pressure gauge started beeping and reading lower oil pressures than before. Is this normal?

Used to read about 39 psi at idle and now reads about 30 psi

i know stupid question but sometimes people miss the obvious. did you add the extra quart after it was installed? maybe the guy that installed it use the regular amount after installing the oil pan. just a thought.

Ahh, should have clarified. Yes, there was 6 quarts added and I even added an extra 1/2 quart when I noticed the pressure drop

A high capacity pan should not change your oil pressure unless the pick up has been extended. That would mean a longer distance for the oil to travel up to the pump which may drop overall pressure slightly...but not a lot.
