Lightweight Battery??
I have simply decided that locating the battery to the rear is too much of a pain in the *** and the use of 0 gauge wire completely negates any weight savings. This car needs weight taken off the nose of the car. The biggest savings I see is in the battery. The stock felt like it weighed about 40lbs so replacing it with a 12-15lb racing unit seems like a good way to get 25lbs or so off the car and more importantly off the front of the car.
Any suggestions on what model to use? Odyssey, Optima, anyon have any experience? Thanks!

I have used the optmia and like the design. However, because of its design it charges slightly differently. The problem that I had was that I never got 100% charged so after about 2 years it started acting strangely on startup. Had to go back to a conventional battery. Maybe the Z will keep it charged, but if there is ever a question over night on a charger can take care of it.
Interstate battery in Ventura carries them under their own name and at one time had the best price in the area.

Just take the battery out and manual start it. That should save you the weight. Or, if you wante do you could design a custom built carbon fibre hand crank that you could mount on the front of the car that you could use to start the car. You can have the modern day model T.
