Ok anyone have the exact part numbers for the base model axle bearings/races and oil seals? Perf nissan wants 150+shipping although i didnt get to talk to steve so maybe these arent even the right parts. The diagram the guy sent me would be useful if i was a car tech! lol but since im not it doesnt really help me.

Well I just talked to someone from Quaife America and they told me the bolts they sent out in the kit were too short by 1mm. The correct length should be 13mm. So as a warning to you guys who have installs setup sometime soon, you'll have to postpone them unless you have already received the right length bolts. As soon as they get the proper bolts they will resend another packaged kit out to everyone.

13mm threads

1.25 pitch

10.9 grade

1 3/8th inch long...

we got..

12mm threads

Now all this is what I'm told by the shop... so... I'm going to see if I can find any...

Finding an M13 x 1.25 x 35 is going to be all but impossible.

Guess my car sits in the shop for 3 weeks.

I've searched dozens of websites, this is not a standard bolt, I don't think you'll be able to buy it off the shelf anywhere.

Anyone else got any ideas? Anyone else measure the bolts? I can't check the service manual since I'm @ work.

Tell me about it. Quaife is going to call everyone that bought the diff, and arrange whatever solution the customer prefers. Return the diffs, or wait 5 weeks for the longer bolts to be manufacturered.

Well, I got that call today, about 3 hours after I had dropped off the Z for install. So Quaife is going to have to pay for my take-apart-put-it-back-together.

Good luck with that... I'm still waiting for disposition of my failed install, which turned out to be the proverbial shot heard 'round the world. I submitted my request a couple weeks ago. Now I have two expensive paper weights on my kitchen counter.

Wow. What a cockup by Quaife. Total. Sharif, I am in the market once this whole bs thing is settled out. I got a performance 6MT, once they finger this out, shoot me a pm with exactly what I need and you got a sale.

I was actually one of the ones eagerly awaiting the Quaife LSD, but because of this debacle, I ended up buying the ATS carbon LSD. It's quiet, smooth, and it's supposedly durable.

After reading Sharif's review of the ATS Carbon LSD I was seriously thinking about getting a refund on my Quaife and getting that. Just need to be a bit more patient and hopefully this all pays off.

gatti: I ordered my OEM parts from Courtesy Nissan and I got it all for 120 shipped. That was just the bearings/races and seals. Here's the part #'s I have on the packages.

Bearing/Race: 38440-0C000
Oil Seal: 38342-P9010

I know this has been a huge inconvenience for everyone. I also had a local customer, whos car we torn down, only to find out that the diff didnt fit his car either!

The most important thing is that you guys eventually are happy. If that means returning the diffs, we'll gladly take them back and refund your money. If that means buying an ATS carbon diff, I can arrange that too.

In regards to those waiting for compensation from Qauife, I am all over that too. Some things take a little bit more time.

Oh, the ATS unit is quite durable and holds up to track duty very well... couldn't be happier.
