Fuel System upgrade
Has anyone done any fuel system upgrades before going F/I? I'm looking at the following:
440cc injectors
AAM fuel return line
Walbro 225
CAS Wire
1-step colder plugs
Zeitronix A/F wideband
eManage
Not going to be ready to go F/I until I get a daily driver this winter, so is there a point/benefit to do these upgrades before F/I?

nice.... I'm pretty set on Vortech Tuner kit, but looking to get a Sentra SER VSpec as a daily driver very soon, so my funds are going to be limited over the fall, but I'd love to do these upgrades now so I'm ready for it, but I'm not sure of it's benefits. I haven't seen any threads on this subject.
if you have the emanage you should not have a problem tuning out the fuel, it honestly won't be of any need until you do the F/I and might cost you a little extra money because of having to get it tuned twice.
I was just going to do all my fuel mods in one shot when I put in my SSV manifold since everything wil be taken off anyway
I picked up some RC440 injectors for $300 with only 1000 miles of use, and figure a return fuel system is just good to have anyway and it'll be there waiting there if I do go FI

well the emanage is going to help for tuing for sure, the fuel is not going to hurt you but won't help until you put on F/I if it makes everything easier I say go for it as I said it won't hurt.

I installed a custom made return fuel system for a lot less than the current ones available. Here is my parts list. I will be doing a DIY write up in the coming days.

yeah that's where I'm getting mine from - the AAM one is nice too, but to me it says something when the guys at CJ are telling AAM about a key flaw in theirs and AAM denies it, only to change it to like what CJ said a couple weeks later

AAM did testing on their siphon kit, and didn't observe a problem with siphon kit, and they had installed the kits on many cars in their shop, without issues.
That said, Charles uncovered an issues with the siphon kit, and how it wasnt properly draining the left side of the tank. Once AAM found out about this, they didnt deny the problem...rather...they spent 3 weeks thoroughly R&D'ing a new fix. Also remember that Charles's original siphon fix came with a line that was not suitable for submersion in fuel, and it broke apart. I am not pointing this out to critise anyone. Rather, I just want people to understand that pioneers like Charles and AAM are going to make continuous improvments to their products, when they see problems. They both make very good systems.
Regarding the DIY option, that is a terrific idea. Personally, I would rather pay $300 so I dont have to spend the time sourcing out and making lines and fittings. And how do you address the siphon correction kit? That would be another $100-$130 in cost if you bought the AAM fix or the CJ fix.
At the end of the day, some customers will want to built their own. Others will want a turn-key package, and are willing to pay a little bit more. Both perfectly good options, IMHO.

I plan on doing the original R&D for my fuel system on my N/A 350Z. Should be promising, I offer better parts than what is currently offered in the other kits and the kit itself is flexible (as far as parts you can choose), not to mention affordable for what you get.
It will be a couple of months before you'll see anything more about this though.

badmonkey_1-- i can't wait for a DIY guide. be sure to take lots of pictures. i'm all for DIY stuff.. I have much more respect to those who make their own quality parts instead of paying other people to do everything.
I already did the install, and took some pics along the way. I have been driving with the new system for almost 2 weeks now. I had a little leak around the fuel tank housing from the gasket, that has been the only issue. It took 5 minutes and another rubber gasket to fix. I just have to get off my butt to do the DIY.
With RC injectors fit into the stock placements?
I'm also curious if the APS wiring harness etc will work the the RCs. Its ~$580 bucks for 650cc injectors, and if I can get away with running the APS fuel upgrade components without spending another 1k for the AAM kit... And a lot of other redundent parts, that would be nice.

My kit from AAM was working just fine then all of a sudden I was loosing fuel pressure as boost rised. We called AAM and they told us of drilling out the return elbow that goes in the bucket. This fixed the problem. Is this one of the fixes you are talking about?
On a side note: with a ported head and JWT cams it is much easier to max out the 440's. Up top I can't even boost past 8psi without leaning out passed 12.2:1. Is this normal Sharif?

I noticed if you loosen the adjustable FPR too much, it also causes this drop in fuel pressure as boost rises.
Regarding the leaness, that does seem right. I have ported heads and JWT and I have more fuel that I know what to do with at 520whp.

im going duel fuel pump with rods and railes and 750 injectors for mine so im hoppin to get about 470whp.. on stock internals safe and that is along with the greddy kit and a new hks f-con
