Remember, the gears are going to be very tight. You might actually have to have the input shaft spinning a little bit to get the car into first (or reverse). If it doesn't go in immediately, pull it back to neutral, release and depress the clutch (to get the input shaft spinning), then put it into gear.

Your old gears were worn a bit (and you were used to that), the new ones are very new. You'll have to work with them until they get a bit more loose.

Did you get yer tranny replaced by a dealer warranty? It sounds like you have the 05 clutch. My engage point is really high, but you can adjust it. I also had some trouble getting it into 1st when I first got it. Good luck.

If your having trouble getting it into 1st, slightly bliping the throttle usually works for me.

i have that too, and i also cant put it in first gear sometimes, and the clutch engages at the very top.

its funny tho, when i got my tranny and clutch replaced (JWT clutch) it used to engage at the very bottom for the first week... and then it just went back to engaging at the top, and hasnt changed since... is it how its supposed to be? or they messed something up, and the clutch is worn out now?

the car had 32k miles on the first clutch...now it has 36

Yeah my 05 wobbles a little. I noticed a big difference in my car vs my buddies 03. His was much easier to drive(perfect engagement placement) but the clutch was a lot heavier.

new trannys can be really notchy and difficult to get into gear sometimes. The clutch engagement will change as everything is broken in. In all 3 of my tranny's the clutch would engage close to the floor, by the end of the break in period its all the way at the end of the clutch travel.

i do have a question for you guys also. Whenever you come up to a stop sign do you push the clutch in then try and go from say 3rd to 1st? Everytime i've done that on my last 2 tranny's it would grind badly.

I'm guessing you mean from 3rd, then a complete stop(or close to it), then 1st gear right? Because if you're still rolling at a steady pace then you're going to grind.

I didn't like my new tranny so I got a short shifter.

I usually go to 2nd then 1st. I don't know why, and it's not really a conscious thing.

whats the tranny number? CD009?

Short shifters sometimes (most of the time) feel more notchy then the stock shifter...

If the shifter alignment plate is off then it will feel even more notchy as well...

Is CD009 the newest?

My 1st gear is also louder than my previous tranny. when it's higher rpm, it has this whining noise..
