i was thinking about getting one of those piggyback engine tuners.. one like apex'i saf-c or a PLX 500.. are these simple for people like me to use? i havent done any tuning before, but would like to learn so i could tweak this after every mod i do... or if anyone is in the bay and would like to help me out, it would be really appreciated!!

 

a PLX is not a piggyback controller of anything...it just datalogs

SAFC's work very well, but not on the Z (in my experience). While minior adjustments can be made, the stock ecu tends to learn right around it, as it ismore than just fuel (it inherently alters timing too)

You might want to look into Turbo XS's UTEC when it is released later this year

Correct, the PLX Devices R-500 is a datalogging, wideband O2 sensor package with and LCD screen. It can even be setup to replace a stock O2 sensor, so no new holes need to be drilled. Pretty sweet if you ask me (www.plxdevices.com).
