yeah tranny's have gone out but none that I am aware of were due to the aftermarket FLYWHEEL. The stock tranny, especially in the original 2003 models were faulty.

its the revability that i want to change. Also what year was your car? Many people have had tranny issues with their cars that are 2003-2004. Mine is an 05 so im hoping that nothing will manifest itself. Also how many miles did it have and how long with the jwt before you developed problems? Not trying to call bs i just would really like to know bc im about to do the same thing to my car.

yeah, mine is an 03, but I have an 05 tranny in it now. Works like a champ... much better shift points and sycros. If you don't care about your warranty then go for it. I ended up having to hold in the clutch at a stop since seemed to rattle more and more. From the sound of things, people have different outcomes with the same flywheel... a gamble I guess.

I bought the car used 2003 model. After buying it, I found out that it had three transmissions in it prior to me. All different versions or w/upgrades. By the time I got it it had a JWT FW with a 2004 transmission. I bought it with 14k on it. It rattled a little at first, but I thought it was the headers it came with too. Once I hit about 20k, it rattled like crazy so I took it in. At the time I didn't even know it had a JWT FW on it. They weren't going to warranty any of it, but they finally gave in. So the only way they'd pay for the new transmission replacement was to install a stock FW, so that's where I'm at now. I didn't think a different FW would make a difference but after talking to the Nissan engineers they explained how this transmission lacks an extra dampning took in the transmission and completely relies on the stock FW with the rubber piece to do the trick. A JWT will work for a while, but it's going to slowly wear at your tranny. When they finally opened it up, bearing that were supposed to be packed fell onto the ground. That part of the transmission hasn't changed between 04-05 so it could happen to any of them.

wow thats amazing that nissan is producing such a piece of crap tranny. Also there have been changes to the 2005 and not just the tranny. Nissan wont say anything to avoid tsb's and the like but they change things just the same. Hopefully my flywheel wont kill my tranny. I hate slow revving engines. I need a light flywheel, thats just the way its going to be lol.

Well the tranny is changed since its lasting but they wont say anything. Also ive heard the internals are a little stronger but who knows. Also the window motors havent gone to crap like previous models yet. But these are all small changes and i have no proof so take what i say with a grain of salt.
