First off you will not directly be remapping anything. You have to send the ecu out to Technosquare or AAM or anybody with the reflash program. They would modify your a/f's, your timing, remove your speed limiter if you wanted, and raise your rev limiter also if you wanted. IMO, an ecu reflash is stupid unless you have some mods that are making your car run too lean. What do you have done?

Damn somebody lied to you. More combustion with an ecu? Maybe they meant it will help you run a better a/f mixture. Start with bolt-ons. Look in my sig in my mods link to get an idea of some good basic bolt-ons that work well together-dyno and track proven.

Getting an ecu w/ the stock engine will probally get you approx. 4-5whp, which mainly would come from the raised rev limiter. Not really worth the $600+ it will cost you. Buy a $150 pop charger and get the same hp. Wait till you've done some serious mods before adding getting the ecu flash.

WRONG! Our power peak is at 6200 rpm's how would just raising the rev limiter to 7100 give you more power? You would see power with timing changes, and tuning of your a/f, not because of the raised rev limiter.
