Default Engine Temperature = Hot!!

So it is was hot here in Texas today, got up to 98/99F. I open up my hood and the heat from under was scary. Do all Z's run hot? The engine temp. gauge inside the car has always been same showing in normal range. I touch the upper plenum and I could cook an egg on there. Just curious. Thoughts?

The Motordyne Iso Thermal upgrade will fix the scalding plenum temperatures real quick.

The 350Z runs hot. Yes. When the ambient temperature is 60 degrees, take a ride with the windows open. Put you hand on the side of the transmission hump: its warm. Stop the car, open the drivers door, put your hand down and touch ground. You can feel the heat from under the car. If you're comfortable at 70 degrees, close the windows and vents: the interior will soon reach 70 degrees.

Nissan shorted the Z on insulation (none on the underside of the hood) for weight reasons.

Would using Redline fluid in the tranny help with some heat?

Just curious, has anyone tried removing the thermostat completly? this would allow coolant to flow without restrictions. Naturaly this is only for Summer operation..What about you people that live in places like Arizona (lived there for a year 10 years back) where it really gets hot, how are you guys dealing with this??
