Got a baseline dyno today.....
i understand what you are saying and you have good points, but you mentioned VTEC... well nissan has the CVTC or whatever is called on these cars, and yours has it on both cam sides and i'm assuming you have a 35th aniv. (nice color choice btw, i originally wanted yellow
). but isn't it possible that the amount of timing advance the CVTC has in the higher rpms can be increased via control of the ecu? that alone could easily free up a few ponies. while i don't have proof of "my car has more power" i've still seen what it can do vs other Z's. maybe its because i never race with a passenger, i always have less than a 1/4 of a tank, i can shift well, etc etc. who knows. wackier things have happened on the street. i wish i had my time slip from Ennis to post up here, but i've heard people say that stock Z's can't break into the 13's. i ran a 13.7 @ 106mph with a 2.1 60ft time. i've told that to people i've met at meets a few of em have called BS. i wish i had proof but i'll get some.
gatti-man, i never ment to insult your intelligence or knowledge of cars so i apoligize if that post came off a little negative.

j/k man. i'm sorry but i think you don't know much about the car. i KNOW that compared to the other Z's i have raced with light mods to stock, i can tell you that the way i drive my car makes the ecu do something man! i can shift pretty well but i don't think that would give me a consistent 2 car lead on a stock Z from a dig. i've also raced a brand new 35th aniv model. cool guy, but from a dig i pulled the guy by a full car at 100. i still have the crappy potenzas. the ecu might adjust for alot of the things you listed, but i am a strong believer that this car modifies the engine parameters somewhat if not heavily based on driver input.

35th aniversary Z is like 200 lbs more than an enthusiast so of course you had 1-2 carlengths
who knows if those other Z's had stereos or whatever

A dynopack measures HP at the hub (takes the wheels off) so that possible loss in power isn't measured in to the final number.
