Question Just a performance question

Hey yall i just have a thought to share, any opinions welcome. Theres many after market parts for the z like intakes, exhausts and all that good stuff but why most people dont choose nismo parts? I mean is the same company made by the nissan ppl? so all nismo parts are MEANT for the z, which means you shouldnt have any surprises later on.
But after reading tons of threads i guess most of yall are not using nismo parts. For example this dude wrote that nismo exhaust looks the same as stock and it doesnt make any difference. That ur just wasting ur green. If it doesn't make any difference why in the world is called a performance NISMO part 4 the z?? My question is, if your car is stock (like mine 05) and ur planning to upgrade, are Nismo parts not good enough? Cause'I know some critics like the folks over at ign.com swear that the nismo r-tune nissan is that shyt. You tell me.

Nismo parts are good they are just expensive....also some of the mods are dealer happy ( Warranty safe ). I don't have any Nismo mods but the exhaust is a good choice in performance and sound....

Nismo is mainly outsourced parts that can be had for much less with a different sticker. I have a few Nismo mods (ie Power steering cooler, Diff cover, and LSD), but that is about it.

Some Nismo parts plain suck like the CAI that is basically a re-badged AEM. Some of the parts are very nice but as some have said, you pay a little extra for the name. I personally like the Nismo body kit and the cams have a nice profile for the street. The wheels are also very nice and look great on the Z.

Basically, to each their own. There are plenty of guys on this forum with nearly every Nismo component made and others who go a different route.

If you like the NISMO performance items, and trust the name and quality, them buy them. Problem solved.

they are often 'conservative' - i <3 my flywheel and cat-back exhaust but could i have gotten lighter for cheaper on both? probably. but factory-friendly warranty and perfect fitment were my priorities, and the sound, omg the sound.....

Another perspective on Nismo: I purchased a lot of Nismo stuff for the Spec V. The equipment was very high quality, and appeared to be better received by Nissan for warrantee purposes, than other aftermarket parts. The fit of body parts was just perfect. It was by far the most expensive. I also had some parts that weren't Nismo. The higher priced ones (JIC, Tein, AEM) were high quality and just as good as or better than the Nismo. The lower priced ones (TechnaFit, others) were not that good.

Nismo does not have a monopoly on aftermarket parts for their cars, and it's a good thing, or they would be even more expensive. They also don't make the only quality parts for Nissan.

Well i think I've made my decision. If the sound is badass, fitment perfect and warranty then is all good. Am go for it. Look out for my nismo tuned z hehe. Hey and check this out, someone said that a nismo tuned z is twice as fast as a regular z. Not bad i think...................................

If you want to make a 12mile trip east on the 210 you can come by and check out most of the parts for the 350z...
