Default Noisey Pulley Belt

I just installed my UR Pulley's (minus Crank Pulley, will install later) and now the belts squeak very loud when the car is running. I only installed the Alternator & Power Sterring Pulley and used the factory belt.

Does any one know if I should either tighten the belt or loosen the belt to stop the squeak! Or should I be using the new belts UR provided me even though I am not using the crank pulley?

Thanks......

USE THE UR belt, thats why they gave it to you, as for the squeaking that means the belt needs to be tightened! It needs to break in, if you dont have a supercharger the idle and crank pulley dont do anything, they are basically just there for show, they are basically the same weight as the stock ones. You should really buy the crank pulley thats what makes the difference! Trust me i have the entire kit, you will be impressed with the reaction time and acceleration with the crank pulley.

Thanks D350...I have the crank pulley I just didnt want to struggle with removing the bolt and I opted to do it at a later time since I struggled with the alternator. I will be removing the belt today and placing the UR one. It already seems tight enough, but I will keep tighting it! Thanks again

Tighten the belts, the reason ur sells those belts is becuse the crank pulley is smaller, they will not fit the stock pulley. The belts are squealing because they are slipping.

if only replacing the alternator / power steering pulley there is no reason to use the smaller belts...

Thanks guys....I did use my stock belts and I tighten the belt and the squeaking is very minimal when first starting the engine. After about 30 seconds the it stops. I will make more adjustment later....thanks

they may have been glazed over a little bit so the new material which is smoother will squeeky squeeky...

use new belts...

avoid vatozone and other parts stores brand of belts. I had to get some replacement belts quick and for the price I would of much rather of just gone w/ some gator belts and had them overnighted. The non-gator belts have been stretching more than 1 tightening and I have to also go retighten as I get the ghetto sounding squeek on startup again.

ok, I installed the crank pulley and all new belts (provided by Stillen), tighten the belts (as the car ran...didnt know how important that was) and all squeaks are gone! WuuuuuHuuuuu!

And I was using damn Dumb-o-Zone belts and I think that played a major roll. I bought Nissan belts a week ago belt, but they gave me a wrong belt (way to short).

Thanks again for all the help!

Now I'll wait until my computer reads the new pulleys to see the HP gains!

The computer doesn't adjust for pulleys. They increase power by decreasing rotational mass. The ECU would only adjust for airflow/timing. It is a subtle difference in power but you really start to notice it after you drive it for a while. It gives you a little power down low and makes the car drive much smoother in daily driving.
