How much difference is there in 1/4, 0-60 times with this upgrade?

But....Anyone use this 3.9 with a s/c?

 

I'm not sure if anyone is running anykind of FI with the 3.9. I couldn't imagine how fast redline would come with it. It's gets there fast enough.

 

I will know how fast a 3.9 is on a Z with a clutch, flywheel, grounding kit and KNN filter. Those are my only mods, and I am going to the track on the 23'rd of this month. Before with no mods I was only getting a 14.2. But I also left my sterio in my car which is heavy, and my spare tire. I plan on taking out the sterio before I go to the track. I can post my times then if you like.

 

yea please do...have basically all those mods besides clutch and flywheel... wanna see how all those combined improve it

 

Hey... i was contimplating doing this 3.9 final drive.. but i heard that the downfall was u lose top speed.. im like like im gonna go 155 or 160 all the time? lol

if u went FI is there benefits for it? I heard it was kinda pointless.. only great for N/A cars.. u can smoke cars off the line easy..

what u guys think about doing that with FI?

i'd only use the 3.9 with either the vortech or ATI procharger...every other FI kit has too much torque at lower rpms to hook the tires with the 3.9 - unless you have racing tires

The only reason I wondered was I saw the episode of Overhaulin where they S/c'ed a new GT Mustang and swaped out for a taller rear end.

 

sure it wasn't less aggressive gearing?

 

moostangs swap gears all the time. I did when I had my GT and it is unbelievable how much of a difference they make. I will get the 3.9 when the funds are sufficient
