Default C-Foam

Has anyone ever used this stuff in their intake manifold? It's suppose to clean your injection system out really good. I've been thinking about using it in my Eclipse/144k miles.

i used it in my 85 volvo 740 with 180kmi. worked like a champ -- calmed the idle right down and helped the engine rev faster

did a liter of chinese water torture before i put a full can through the intake manifold (just hook up a spare vacuum line and alternate dipping the tube into your bottle one second on, one second off, until it's all gone)

one thing it will definitely point out is if your exhaust gaskets are going and watch out for the james bond esque smokescreens!

I read about the smoke on their web page. Sounds like I'll have to do this outside somewhere. How long does the smoke last?

Depends on how much "seafoam" you used. It looks really cool by the way.

I just called up Hi-Lo Oreilly. They carry it. About $4.00/per can. I'm gonna pick up some after work and try it. The old lady wants to eat sushi tonight. I might have to apply it later on tonight or tomorrow. I was thinking about using it at the car wash. I live in an apartment. Garage is in a basement(probably not an ideal place to use it)

Make a video of the car when you start it up and drive. This will get so good laughs.

smoke lasts the duration of the chinese water torture / seafoam application + 1-3 minutes... the best thing to do is to do the seafoam and then do a WOT run on a busy interstate makes for good fun!

I used that stuff this weekend. Fed about 1/3 pint(6oz) through my PVC vacuum line using a transmission fluid pump. Let the car sit 5mins then restarted. I only saw a couple puffs of smoke while feeding the seafoam into the manifold. When I restarted, there was nothing. The end results are better though. The rough idle has calmed down and my acceleration is smoother. I'm happy.

yeah, it only really helps if you've got tons of deposits on the inside of your engine -- i had so many deposits that i had a pretty hefty piston slap increase!
