Default Reflash ECU

Hey guys. I was going to reflash my stock ECU from TS soon but I was gonna ask for those of who have done it... is it worth it? I have all my mods done in my sig and is the reflash necessary? And how does it feel taking the car up to 7100rpm and does it void the warranty of the car? Would the reflash make my mods work better or what? I heard that someone in the forums that some people reflashed and got really poor AFR's... like 15 while others get perfect ones like 13.1( I think alberto). I plan on staying NA and I would appreciate all your opinions on this. Thanks.

I would recommend it with the items you have on your car. You will definitely have an advantage being in SO cal since you can just drive it in and tune it if you have a wideband

I'm planning on getting a reflash as well. Can we set up a group thing? I know they have a 10% discount for Halloween but that's too early for me. November would be a better month, money wise...

Actually it may be for the locals only cuz the contingency is that we shop up dressed up for halloween...

Yes the reflash could void your warranty. The only way they will see the reflash if they hook it up to there computer. I have a stock ECU handy just in case from a wrecked Z.

Don't think you can just swap ECU's and expect the car to run.. For one the immobilizer is programmed into each ECU..

The car's sweet spot with stock cams is still peaked at 6600 IMO and the extra 600 rpm is good for road racing when you just need to stay in "that gear" just a bit longer so you don't have to slow down by upshifting. With a nice set of cams, this can be a different story

What kind of TS Reflash is recommended?? Because i have similiar bolt ons to what nismo 350z has and i also want to get a TS reflash. I was wondering if i should get just the regular one, since i just have simple bolt ons, or is it worth it to customize my reflash? Im tryin to avoid dynoing my car, but if it really helps that much, ill do it. What do u guys think? Thank You.

GAaaAR - I would recommend you visist Altered Atmosphere and have it flashed on your car, rather than trying to do it via mailorder - you will be much happier. Though it all depends on your mods

Exactly. What I would suggest is tuning it in person at AAM, or if you go through TS, dyno the car first and mail that along with your ECU.

Your right. But, not when you have a valet key cut & programmed for your ignition and for the other ecu.

Each key is specific to the ECU for your car. If the chip in your key doesnt match the ecu your car won't start... the dealer can program any nissan key to match the ecu allowing you to use a different one.

Do need the ecu hooked up to the car for them to do that? Or can I just get an ecu from say a junk yard and just ask Nissan dealer to match a key to it?

AAM uses TS software. Same thing, but the advantage that you East Coasters have is that there is a dyno on site at AAM to my knowledge.
