You need to go buy some penetrating oil. Apply it several times over the course of a few hours and let it work its way into the threads. Eventually the air tools and the penetrating oil will help you get this nasty bolt off.

Ive done 2 crank pulley installs you dont need to pull th efan. Just get a large 1/2" breaker bar with a metal pipe over it. Put it on the crank pulley bolt, and set the bar/pole on the ground at the 5 o'clock position. Now simply turn the motor a few times. The torque from the starter will loosen the bolt. SImple as that. Dont break a sweat and it works every time. Good luck.

i did it that way too except i just had my brother hold the brake pedal down instead of starting the engine....the car was rolling back and forth when i tried to loosen in gear without the brakes applied

When I installed one I just use the pipe w/breaker bar method. No need to remove fans, etc....

There's also a "pulley removal wrench" from harbor freight. It's basically a strap wrench but the strap included with it is a v belt so it grabs the pulley better.
It's referenced here in the fifth post: http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showfl...47&Main=755206
I haven't used it, but for $9 +tax it should be worth a try.

we tried with bars, wrenches, penetrating everything, brakes, in all gears etc. would not move.
Went to a proper shop, mechanic had the same problems. He in the end wanted to take off the radiator.... a full day's work.... I sold the pulleys. Not worth it, in my case

I also had some difficulties with the shop that was trying to install my UD pulley. The bolt was on there so tight and it wouldn't budge. They used a huge breaker bar and were afraid of damaging the flywheel since its a manual.
I am taking it back and they are going to try and use a chain wrench on the pulley to get it off. I didn't want them to go through the headaches of pulling out the radiator to use air tools.
If the chain wrench doesn't work I will probably bag the pulley.
