Good Question. But I don't think anyone will know until it's tested. I would guess +20% shouldn't be a problem, unless you race frequently. That would be about 350 HP. For all we know, it could handle 400HP. But who knows.

Anyone have an experience with modern Automatics and higher HP?

Send you tranny to www.levelten.com and have them strengthen it.

A good question to ask is how similar the tranny is to the 5-sp tranny found in the Q45. I was under the impression that they were the same in the G35, Q45, and G35C just using different shifting algorithms... don't know about the Z though...seems very similar looks wise.. lol

Yea levelten upgrade is probably a must if you dont want to burn out your transmission. I just wish their location was in houston.

Anyone even remotely considering sending their tranny to Levelten should first search all the problems associated with the company and their products on supraforums.com. I don't know if their problems were related only to Supra trannies, or apply to all others.

Almost every Levelten "built" auto tranny on a Supra I have heard about has taken a crap after a very short period of time. I knew one guy personally who had reoccuring problems with his, but then he's pushing 600hp at the wheels. I haven't had any problems myself, so don't have much room to talk, but I would nevew go through them myself given all the bad stories I have heard.

I think the problem with most magazines is the length of time they work with the car.... they might have it for 3 months, but the problems start 9 months in... or 3000miles but 9000 problems happen... just an assumption.

You must take in mind that the Supra tranny is different from yours, and while problems occur in the Supra, may not occur in yours. Have you contacted them about your tranny yet?

Also keep in mind that the failed Supra transmissions I've heard of were probably mostly 550+rwhp, even though Levelten said they'd hold 1000rwhp. But yeah, every car is different. With this many different forums saying their trannys are crap, I'd stay away from them if it were me.

Acording to a couple of the spy reports on the upcomming 350-400hp GTR, the Nissan engineers were having problems with the auto tranny (same one in our Z) holding up consitantly with that amount of power.

If your looking to have more fun, instead of installing a turbo, why not install a manual tranny ...jk man. Lets not start that discussion.
