Forced Induction in an Automatic Tranny
I think the Auto Transmission will hold up quite well on boost actually. The transmission is the same as the 340HP/333TQ Infiniti Q45, so I am sure you can handle moderate boost, up to 400hp with no problem. But definately get a transmission oil cooler.

I'm going to go with the Level 10 VB and stall and will let everyone know the outcome in the next few months. There are things to learn off of forums but I also will say there is more misinformation than accurate information. After reading the posts on the maxima forum I came to the conclusion most guys knew very little about vehicles and were making statements about Level Ten with no or little hands on experience or knowledge. For guys trying to shift auto's like a manual and thinking you are getting better performance you are very mistaken. All that is being done is adding a lot more heat and wear to the trans with no gain in performance. Put the trans in drive and leave it there to shift on it's own. When a bunch of guys/kids are upshifting and downshifting manually with an auto and then saying they are having problems and try to blame a manufacturing then I will pass on their advice.

Any updates??
I was contemplating an AT because I live in Los Angeles and do alot of city driving, but this information just decided for me that i will get a MT and a short-throw shifter. I want my Z to finish around 350 hp / 350 ft. lbs torque (plenty of power for the little Z) and don't want to have any trans problems. I'll take strength and reliability on a MT everytime over constantly worrying if my mods are wearing the engine/tranny pre-maturely.
i had my wrx valve body done by level ten,no problems at all.i had my torque convertor done by pro torque.thats where most wrx guys get there t/c done at.my friend got the whole level ten package, his clutch bands are gone already, stock 1st gen talon.
I had my 200-4r built by Performance Transmissions in Sacramento, CA. They do an awesome job, and they test the trans before sending it out and mine was even warranted for racing use. They do work on all transmissions so if you are in the CA area you might want to give them a try - their number is 916-739-0510.
I think for a turbo setup auto trans are the way to go.. you can build boost off the line and you can hold boost during shifts.. something you can't do in a manual. Plus, when they are built right they can be much stronger than a manual and much easier to launch.
