You can feel the engagement of the LSD as soon as you allow the clutch to grab. The engagement at this point is not as smooth as others that are out there. I just don't care since a sports car is supposed to be "fun"

I've got the Cusco RS yes. Twice as many disks? Lots more noise for one, but I suppose it might be a bit smoother engagement. Honestly I could not see it being anything dramatic as my Cusco literally is no louder than the stock LSD was. No clanks, no tire sqealing, nothing...just a smoother operation. Hands down one of the best mods I have done to date.

Install on the final drive with all the misc. BS parts you need is around $550 give or take ($450 for the install on average and $100 for parts)

what do you guys think of the 3.9 fd on a HKS supercharged Z pushin roughly 300rwph/300rwtq? I can't really mod this HKS kit with engine mods without dropping major amounts of money, but I want to give my car a little bit more acceleration.

I believe the only gears you can go with besides the OEM 3.3 (on 5at's) is the OEM 3.5's from a manual tranny. An aftermarket LSD should work just fine just like on any 6MT. Handling and acceleration are improved.

I think your setup, along with some gears would be a great setup.

I'll be swapping the Lightning in on a Z soon. I plan on stay N/A and tracking the he11 out of it. Lets say I can pick up a differential at a junkyard for less than $500. Gears, plus LSD, and do the install my self, what are the tolerances for setting the gear?

Nah, ISMSOLUTIONS from g35driver.com has done the 3.92 fd and he drives a auto, so i kno its possible. I just dont know what i would need to do to make this work. Im planning to call 350evo and ask them about this. But before i ask them , how can a nismo lsd be unstreetable for a 5at with no clutch? Is the only negative the noise factor??

I thought the HKS kit made more than that? How much boost are you running? Is there another stage of the kit you can upgrade to?

sweet, the hks is a nice system. I'd love to run a Z with the hks to see how they compare.

3.9+ HKS SC should be a great combination!

I plan on 3.9 w/ cusco RS or maybe the ATS carbon unit + HKS SC + VPRO + 63lb injectors

Does the 3.9 FD improve 1/4th mile times? If so how much?
