Best Year Enthusiast to get for Mods?
Hey guys, I have a friend interested in getting a Z but he doesn't know which year has the best ECU. Any Suggestions? Thanks!

If you have a friend interested in buying a 350Z, then it might be better if your friend post his concerns.

I heard the 03 ECU was the best to mess with. They got more restrictive as the years go by.
BUT, I could be wrong. I just remember seeing a post about this.

2003 - easiest to flash and they won't throw a check engine light if you run test pipes.

you have 154 and ur just as cold as david lol.
It costs about 650 for the full flash (i think...form TS) They have limited flashes for cheaper. Ur better off getting utec or another kind of engine management since TS can take 2 or 3 tries to get it right, and u have to pay for dyno ect ect.

if your friend is focussing on output after modifications, I suggest the 05 track. Lightweight, rev-up engine. The extra exhaust cam timing works responds better to mods.

I'd much rather suggest a model that doesn't have VDC.

the 03 Z's have the best ECU so far, also they are lightest (not by much). however the 05's have fixed many problems that the 03s have, like tire feathering, bad trannies, etc etc.
flip a coin...
