Help.. what is the best Kind of belt? UR pulley
I got new UR installed and the belts they keep putting on are smaller but cheap quality...is there a brand that works best and the size I know is different but any guesses? It squeaks at start up no matter how much you loosen or tighten the belt.Maybe advance auto? Friend said he used to get the belt that had teeth on it for his mustang like 45 bucks I dont care how much The squeal must stop now.
gates belts.. dont fool around with the ones you can get at vatozone etc.. those belts squeaked no matter how tight I tighted them (just shy of too much of course) in cold weather (~30 degress and lower). The gates one's I put on which is what originally came with mine work perfectly no matter how cold.save yourself the headache. the gates belts I got online were $20 bucks for both, where-as the one's from autozone, and napa where close to 40 bucks.
the belts I use:
21mm x 1150mm (Gates P/N K060445)
14mm x 910mm (Gates P/N K040353)
the belts I use:
21mm x 1150mm (Gates P/N K060445)
14mm x 910mm (Gates P/N K040353)

The UR Accessory pullies are the same size as stock...
The KJR Pulley is the same size as stock...
so stock belts will be best IMHO..
When you can, use stock..

some people take a mild soapy water and run it on the under side of the belts...

The Gates belt worked perfect, but with UR crank pulley it doesnt work with stock size. UR is an underdrive pulley KJR is not it is stock size UR is a tab bit smaller.
I would recommend the Goodyear Gatorbacks. If you get any belts new (either Gates or Goodyear), you might have to retighten them after 500-1000 miles or so. This is probably because the the belts are breaking in. If you get any squeaking after installation of the new belt, you just have to retighten it. I got my crank pulley and gatorbacks used (with around 1000 miles on them), and all I had to do was tighten them on the first install. No squeaks from the engine ever since.
