Default 05 vs 06 Engine Specifications

Hi All,
Had my 35th Anniversay 6M for about 6 months now. It seems that I'm getting some flat spots in second gear. I took it back to the dealership and they suggested I drive an '06 model as a comparison. The '06 model would leave mine for dead, even though the spec sheets are identical for both cars. The dealership reset the self learn on mine to see if it makes a diff. So far no change. Apparently the '06 is quicker because of engine mapping!! even though they are the same specs ?

How can they be the same spec (kw & Nm) and yet have different performance ? Can anyone advise, these Nissan dealers are driving me nuts!
Thanks in advance.

yeh i dont know about that one

i have felt the flat spot in 2nd gear as well, mine was when passing through around 2000rpm with moderate throttle

with the exhaust i still felt, it wasnt until i put the highflow cats on that it fixed the problem, and she pulls harder than a stock 287hp now in the low revs

Wanna keep mine stock for a while, so no mods for the moment, don't wanna see the bank mamanger again this year

I guess the question is, how can you have the same specs in two cars but have someone tell you that the diff in performance is engine mapping ? Doesn't sound right to me.

Anyone have any further thoughts on this one ? I'm going back to the dealership this week, any help I can get before then would be much appreciated.

when u consider how much of a change a piggyback or reflash makes to the car.....

so i believe what he says re engine mapping making a difference, what im questioning is if there actually has been a change in the mapping 05-06

Thanks for your reply TiPIACE.
I agree, mapping does make a diff, some like Unichip quote up to 10% increase in performance.
There must have been a mapping change between 05-06 but only for the Track and Touring models. They now have the same specs as the 35th Anniversary has.
