Default Z Mods for M35?

I just sold my Z for a M35 Sport. I need a bigger car. Same engine, but bigger car, less performance. I want to apply some of the mods I did to the Z to the M35.

I know that the Motordyne 5/16" plenum spacer is probably available. I had it for my Z, and will likely buy it again for the ease of install and noticeable gains. What else do you think is compatible? Will any of these apply?

* Z-tube
* y-pipe: I still have the pro-1 y-pipe from my Z
* hi-flow cats
* light weight crank pulley
* reflash, ecu
* headers

Anything else? I only plan on doing some simple bolt-ons for now, so anything like gears of FI is not considered. Thanks in advance.

Thumbs up

Hi Baron,

I know the 5/16" Iso spacer works great on the M35. There are many of them installed on M35's and they keep a stealth profile.

My guess is many, if not most, of the mods that fit on the G35 Sedan will also work on the M35, but its good that you are doing your research first. I have no idea how the exhaust system is set up on the M35. It may be completely different or it may be identical to the G35S. If the exhaust is the same it will give you a lot of good options.

With the M35 being a higher class vehicle than the G35, I would suggest the Fuji exhaust. It makes good gains and isn't ricey, loud or droney at all. But it does sound really good. It's a little louder than stock but deep. It would make a good match to the M35.

Check out G35Driver.com. You can find a lot of applicable information there.

M35... Nice choice in cars BTW.

EDIT: Also get some sway bars. Mandatory. If the understeer is anything like the G35, swaybars will help tremendously.

For those possibly interested in FI, a reputable company (can't say) did have me take pics (when the M35 hit the dealerships) and measurements of the engine compartment to evaluate how hard it would be to . . . twin turbo Not sure of their progress since I've opted for a LS430 (good vehicle to pimp out ), but I know they said it seems to have the same layout as the G35. I'd say you might hear something in summer 06.

350G,
Now that you mention it, I think the Stillen SC for the G35 Sedan could also bolt right on. The M35 and the G35 have the same chassi?.... Other than a few cosmetic differences they look almost identical from the outside.

Gurgen has the PE TT in his G35 Sedan. Give him a PM about fitting a TT in there.

Hmmm... I don't know if putting a Stillen hood on, or slamming in a TT is something you would want to do though. That may be going a bit too far outside of the M35 luxury theme.

But hey. More power is more power.
