Who said it can't be done?

It prolly depends on the dyno also. How much the roller has been used and what not. I have seen some really high HP cars not lose traction, but I have also seen some lower HP cars lose traction on the dyno.
yea there is no reason the car shouldnt be able to hook up if it has remotely OK tires on it. Either their rollers are old and worn of their knurling, or not clean, or the car is not strapped right.
Out of the hundreds of cars that I dyno'd, I never had problems with tires spinning... imports to muscle cars, turbos to supercharged vipers making well over 600ftlbs before 3000rpm... never had problems with spin.

Seriosly I dynod my car with slicks on it and had a little bit of tire spin, but we simply ratched down the straps a bit more and no problem..I guess Shariff's car needs some new tires..
dynoing on slicks can be hard because they collect a lot of dust and also need to be warm to get the extra grip... and its not always the best idea to strap down super super tight on slicks as your putting a lot of pressure and drag on them.
If having traction problems on the dyno, i might suggest setting the cruise control and letting the car run at 60mph for 5 minutes... let the tires get nice and warm and the knurling will clean them off.

Just removed my broken axles, and the shaft snapped inside the inner CV. It was a clean stress fracture...that eventually worked it's way through 1 inch of solid steel. These axles are rated at 500whp, so it doesnt really suprise me, that they eventually snapped.

Whatever. When's the N/A car going back on???
I have a solution here to find out what is really going on.
I just got off the phone with Kevin @ UnderGround Racing, he said that he would like the owner of this Z to call him back, and he will dyno this car for FREE tommarow (Friday).
So thats right, the owner of UnderGround is offering to dyno this car for free and the owner can just come in on Friday with a video camera and video the entire thing, and he will dyno the car with SAE correction.
Cant turn that down?

or can someone lend him a wheel/tyre setup to run on the dyno tomorrow... just don't know what his wheels are though.. that will be tough, if they are standard ones, that will be ezy!
Cannot wait to see the number and I am sure this number will be more accurate @ UnderGround Racing... sounds like the owner is willing to set this right for everyone here... good on him!
cheers,
richie

Phunk for one thing, I have a job which I took a day off to do this so I dont have all the time in the world to please u and another why should I. We had some unfortunate things happen today so we are going to try again. Second, if u read the post u would know that I need a new tire. So since u have all the time in the world to make my scheudule please find me a 275-40-18 Mich PS2 and then I can redyno. Third if there is bad blodd between underground and CP why in the hell would i take my car there, if u have think the numbers are fudge to make someone look good, dont u think that the numbers could be fudged to make someone look bad. So I think u need to ease of a little and things will happen. So call undergroud I undo the appt. u made for me. I will let u know when my sche. is free
your taking this all the wrong way my friend.
just call underground and set it up when your available. kevin didnt say he would only do it Friday, he just said to tell ya to come in tommarow. no one is accusing you of not having a job or having too much free time.
and no, underground cannot fudge your numbers to make them look bad, cause on a dynojet 248c there is no where to fudge the numbers. that is why people trust it. regardless of CP and UGs relationship.. what do you care, just hop on the dyno and see what it does. What is the problem between CP and UG have to do with your dyno numbers?
If you dont wanna dyno at UG then fine... I suppose you can take it back to the shop that cant even get Sharif's car to hook up.
I am not forcing you into anything... all I did was get you a free place to dyno.
Do as you wish, I already feel I know the truth... so honestly I dont care much if you go thru with it or not.

The truth is awaiting you at UnderGround Racing as soon as your available!
Please do not take so much offense to all this... you already said you knew the critics would come! Please understand mine and everyone else's position on this.

It sounds like you have a free dyno my friend. Call the company and set an appointment. Simple as Easy Bake Oven Cleaner!
PS. In all fairness, I REALLY do hope that you dyno 300hp or more. It would give all these nay sayers something to talk about.
this thread, like so many others, is now a waste of time...it's like a freaking soap opera, combined with hints of Club Si
Mod's can we close this? When the owner of the has a Dynojet chart to show, I am sure he will start another thread
Also, tire rack has the tires on sale for $277 a piece if you still need one

CPR and UGR are basically direct competition in Charlotte, NC. I have been to both before (dyno'd my rx7 at UG twice and my Z once), and had the Z tuned a few months ago by Sharif and Eric at CP. From what I have experienced they are both extremely nice and good to deal with, so I personally have no problem with either.
And just for another point. I dyno'd 345rwhp at UG when i first installed my TT kit. Then later on when at CP getting my tune, my baseline before upping the boost from "stock" was 355 rwhp (and this was with many more intake/exhaust mods than my 345 run). So, at the time of my dyno I was completely confident with CPR's dyno-scaling.

Now back to the topic!!!
I havent been on here all day I was soooo looking forward to seeing this but no dice. Im glad my beanbag is still intact, but Im sorry to hear you have a nail in your tire, that sucks. Have any idea when you will have a replacement on or an eta on a new dyno day? Good luck to you, I hope you prove many of us wrong, it would be a HUGE step for NA Z's....
