Did you have a bad experience with FI?

Moral of the story: I don't think it was staged. Just give em time, there is way too much going on in life to sweat this to the nth degree. If it is true, cool, if it isn't back to the drawing boards.

Eric/Sharif/Car owner, good luck and I hope nothing unfortunate happened today.
Stop being so damn optimistic and be like the rest of us LOL It's alot more fun! Okay, I'll give them 3 more minutes.

OK folks, keep your BS flags at half-staff please. We didnt goto UnderGround Racing.

This morning, we went to another local DynoJet, and after strapping down Chad's car, we started spinning the rollers and noticed a HUGE bolt lodged in his tire. So Chad needs a new tire before we can dyno his car.

Then, we strapped down my car, and for the love of GOD, we couldnt get any traction on the rollers. 4th and 5th gear both completely smoked the tires on the dyno...game over....we tried several times.

And THEN!!! To add insult to this HUGE waste of time, on the way home from the dyno, Chad and I were messing around at a traffic light, and I launched my car off the line, and SNAP....my DSS Level2 axle on the driver side broke. The inner CV is mush. So we had to wait 2 hours for a tow truck to shuttle my car back to the shop.

I have some video proof of the car on the dyno, and the bolt in the tire....so no flames please. Once I crawl out from under my car, I will upload it. We'll get both cars back up on the DynoJet shortly.

Not really, My Lightning was FI, soemwhere in the ballpark of 16# of boost, depending upon weather. It was a beast, it was dammit fast, but I'm just ready for a fun vehicle that is completely reliable. I know very few people that have gone FI that haven't had to build the motor afterward. IMO, and that is all this is, I don't think you can go FI on an aluminum block. Not looking to start a fight, just my opinion and it only applies to my car, not yours. I wanted a track car, and that is what I got, something I can take to the track and drive the wheels of it without worry of some mod I've done gone bad.

Should have given him 5 minutes. While I don't think they have cracked the nut, I'll stay on the high road until I see the results.

??? I used to run cars well over 1000HP with no traction problems on the Dynojet 248c.

Otherwise, sorry to hear of the double whammy.

If this car pulls 310rwhp on a Dynojet, its a miracle... ignition timing tuning (the only thing this car has that others do not) on a NA 350z that already is pushing around 25 degrees advance is not going to make no 30+hp over anyone else.

honestly, were your tires wet? I dont see how they could break loose if done correctly on a dynojet. Maybe they forgot to unlock the rollers.

My brother has "only" 460+whp on his '03 350 (webcarconnection) not 600+whp like Sharif, and every time we go to the Dynojet, we have to open the trunk of the car and I have to sit in the back (not very comfortable I might add, even less when you are 6'4" and 300lbs like me...) because of traction problems.
