Default 3.9 FD or Clutch/Flywheel for Auto-X/Road Racing???

I've read the benefits of both the 3.9 FD and the lightweight clutch/flywheel package. I've driven a Z with the JWT clutch/flywheel and it was quite amazing, but unfortunately I have not been able to experience the 3.9FD first hand. I don't normally drag race, I'm more of a road racer, so I'm looking for something that will help me the most in that field. I can't seem to make up my mind so I am hoping on some assistance from my fellow members!

Just as a reference my current performance/suspension mods are:
JWT PopCharger
Topspeed Pro-1 exh
Kinetix HFC's
Koni Shocks
Tein Springs (H)
Stillen Sways

Also, does anyone what type of times I could expect to see from the gears in terms of 1/4 and 0-60?

3.9 gears will drop about .5 off your 1/4 mile so I hear. Here's a good link to what's required.

You should always throw in a stronger clutch before you start doing any other mods in my opinion. The flywheel is always compliments a new clutch nicely. I went with the Nismo clutch/flywheel combo before I did my 3.9 gearing.

The stock clutch believe it or not is quite strong for NA applications. Doug at Crawford Z has 290rwhp (current, but use to have around 284) and he has been running the stock for a long time with no problems. If it was my car I would leave the flywheel/clutch alone till it comes time to buy a new clutch. I would get the 3.9 rearend and if you are tracking a lot I would compliment it with a stronger LSD and finned diff cover. I have heard that the 3.9 is an amazing mod and really benefits you in raodracing. Think about it, 350evo developed the 3.9 for roadracing cars.

Do you want my heart or liver ?? Both are great mods.

Get both mods, if you can .. ASAP.

For speed, torque, and fun .. get the 3.9 first if you can't afford buying both at the same time.

if you are considering ever planning going fi just get the clutch/flywheel for now and then if you decide to not go fi ever get the gears.

gears+turbo = even less traction.

Default Thanks

Thanks for all the responses and votes so far! I think I'm going to attempt to get both at the same time and follow it up with some test pipes to further help the "rev" speed.
I'd love to get the JWT TT or Vortech setups, but I think for now I'll stay NA until I can do FI the right way... meaning until I've got 8K lying around
