Default Dyno pre and post Utec

Im getting my car pre-dynoed today at extreme motorsports in odenton and then monday i am getting Utec installed and i will re-dyno my car after it has been tuned early next week.
My modifications so far are as follows: Helix test pipes, AAM plenum spacer, JWT pop charger, clutch, flywheel, pressure plate, AAM y-pipe, AAM reflash with retarded timing, UR crank pulley.
My guesstimate of pre Utec hp is 260 whereas i dynoed 257 minus the crank pulley and with advanced timing. any guestimates on pre and post hp?

I call 265 before, 285 after....I think your A/F may be all screwed up from all the breathing mods which only leaves more potential for gains from UTEC......

Good luck man!

Edit: I just read you have an AAM flash, I scale back my post gain to 275... you already have some tuning there.

I'd go with 275 tops with your set up. If you had exhaust I'd say 280's....

i made 244 hp and 232 ft/lbs.... well looks like retarding timing gave me 13 less hp... lets hope a Utec can salvage these numbers

edit: ok theres gotta be something wrong with my car then, no way im making 13 less hp after adding an UR crank pulley and retarding the timing...

retarding timing will get you less power, typically you make power by advancing your iginition timing.

i know that, but im saying i shouldnt have lost 13 hp by retarding the timing, and then theres the UR crank pulley i added since i last dynoed. so its more like i lost 20hp from retarding the timing, or something else unforseen is wrong.

Depending on the amount of timing you have taken out, these results may not be suprising at all. I actually would have guessed around or a little less than stock. With a Utec and a proper tune you should be able to hit 265-268 is my guess. You are lacking headers, which would give you a big improvement.

Three days since the OP and I don't see any charts. Am I missing something?

Maybe the fact that the OP said that he will have the UTEC installed Monday?

I picked up 14whp after UTEC tuning. I had the AAM reflash prior to adding UTEC.

Here's the list of mods during UTEC tuning:

AAM polished plenum
AAM plenum spacer
AAM y-pipe
AAM 2.5" test pipes (currently off)
AAM 3" single stainless angled exhaust
AAM ECU flash
UTEC with Tuner Reg Pro
Injen RD CAI
ACT clutch w/ 6 puck Race Disc
Fidanza flywheel

Here's part of my post from 350z - tech:

OK. The results are in. The baseline dyno run was 253whp / max torque 239. UTEC installed and tuned with 93 octane - 264whp / max torque 248. UTEC installed and tuned with 100 octane - 267whp / max torque 251.

I thought that I would get more out of adding UTEC to my NA setup. I'm not unhappy, the setup might just require more tuning and adding UTEC was a part of my plan to go FI next year anyway.

I feel that the stock cats might be too restrictive. If I had my test pipes on, I might have put 270whp down using 93 octane.

I was suprised that the gains were minimal when using 100 versus 93 octane. I believe that the timing was advanced 2-3 degrees on 100 octane. I'll check to be sure. Also, I'm not sure that the car was empty after the 93 octane tuning. This could have resulted in 95-96 octane fuel after the 100 octane was added.
_______

It's my opinion that we will only get 15-20whp out of UTEC while NA. UTEC comes to life when added to an FI application.

Considering that I will be going FI later this year, adding UTEC was a worthwhile purchase.

My 2 cents.

Sounds about right. I looked at your mods and tried to guess how much wheel hp you would have after utec tuning without looking at your results. I actually guessed 263 whp on 93 octane while you made 264 whp. So i was close.

The UTEC also showed similar results on my G35 cpe
-from stock i picked up ~12whp
-after adding the LMS res. test pipes and a tune, i picked up another 12whp

It's definitely worthwhile w/NA and a MUST w/FI.
