Default clicking noise (NOT AXLE) and tranny problem

posted this on g35driver but didnt get any response.

i've recently started hearing this clicking noise coming from underneath my car.
this isn't the infamous axle clicking problem either.
the clicking noise only happens up to about 50mph and it's only audible if u drive near a sidewalk and it echoes back to you or if you have your windows closed, you can hear it coming from underneath the car.
sounds more like playing cards stuck to a bicycle wheel. clicking gets faster when my speed goes up.

also ever since i started hearing the clicking noise, sometimes when i pull my car out of 2nd or 3rd gear, the vibration through the shift **** is a lot more noticeable.
the shift **** rattles and when i move the shift **** to the left in neutral, it rattles harder.
when im cruising in 6th gear, i can feel some constant knocking feedback thru my shiftknob.

anyone experience any of these problems or know about them?
i'll probably take my car in next week to have it checked up but i wanted to be more aware of the problem before the dealership tells me some kinda excuse to not fix my tranny.

thanks in advance

i suggest u go to the dealer and tell them about ur prob. I can only think of the TSB but u said that isnt it. Their has to be something loose under ur car or ur suspension. I hope someone could help u with this. I know how u feel cause i hate having to know something is wrong with my car! It jus kills me... Good luck bud!

Is it a "click" or a "clicky chirp"?

https://my350z.com/forum/search.php?searchid=882195

that is the search i did. i have the same problem.

i have 34k miles 2003 model. this is what i gathered from reading:

there is a tsb: technical service bulletin. means they have to fix the problem even if your car is out of warrenty. drive terrain warrenty is covered up to 50,000 miles.

they need to replace the bolts and lube the axle barrings or something to that extent. looks like its a 30 min job and can even be done by yourself.

is your car modded, i know alot of short shifter make noise and give movre vibrations, if you have an exhaust it could be that tapping against something transmiting it through your car?
