JWT clutch/fly done...
after all my problems with broken clutch bolts and all, i finally got the car back together and drove it today.
i dont notice a drastic difference in rev speed, probably because i have the single turbo and the revs jumped up pretty fast already. it does seem like the gear changes are smoother upshifting and downshifting. downshifting is much better while decelerating. the clutch definitely grabs much faster, ive stalled in a few times already. and during quick shifts, is seems like the power reacts faster, dont know if thats the flywheel or clutch doing that.
few questions, it seems like the clutch engagement is way low, i guess thats normal, maybe i need to adjust it again. next, i have this grinding noise when taking off, while under about 1700rpms. is that the cement noise people were referring to. i thought the cement noise was during idle sitting still. i have the noise while slowly starting from a stop.
after all my problems, i guess im glad i did it. i bought the setup used for about half price. i paid 140 for towing to and from the shop, and the shop charged me 100 to reinstall the tranny. of course i did the removal of the turbo and tranny, and had to reinstall the turbo.

You may not feel it if you have a ST but youre actually getting better engine response. The JWT flywheel shaves off a lot of weight from the stock flywheel so its only logical. As for the grinding noise, due to less mass on the flywheel its going to grind under about 2K rpm, I dont think you cant hear it under 1st gear but the rest of the gears you will be able to hear. Its completely normal.

thanks, what about the clutch engagement, does the JWT make it closer to the floor, it seems that i have a lot more clutch play before it engages. i lowere the clutch height today and its a little better.
yes...engagement point will be higher as the clutch is broken in.
i just got the JWT clutch with the stock flywheel. first drive, the clutch was fairly low, almost like you would find on a civic or miata. after a couple of weeks, returned back to the regular G35 height.

You will get used to the lower engagement point, and it typically works its way back up the middle over the course of 2000miles. The cement mixer sound is also normal, under load between 1200rpm and 3000rpm. Enjoy!
