mine was notchy at around 2-3K miles (1st to 2nd gear). Replaced all fluids with Royal Purple, shifting was better for a few days but notchiness came back and has been present ever since. (10K now) Nissan transmission sucks.

Bastards are telling me to wait until nissan has a fix for it, my first gear sounds like a damn freight train. Should I just force it upon them and give them a taste of the mighty baseball bat?

i can shift faster in my jeep wrangler than the Z - i'm serious too - at least it feels like it handles fast shifting way better than the Z. I'm not a fan of this transmission

Screw the shifting, my brand new Z makes metal to metal noises in 1st gear. I only have 2200 miles, this is my first nissan and the way things are going it might be my last...

nissan has updated many of these trans either the dealer doesnt read the letters they get about the problems with this trans or they are just a dumba$$ i would tell them they can either give me a new trans under warranty or they can take the car back i wouldnt pay to drive a car that sounds like a cement truck thats why we bought the car to look good and go fast not get laughed at.
