Im gonna buy a trans for my VQ35 S14 project. Im looking on Performancenissanparts.com Few questions. Why is the 2003 Z trans $1800 or so and the 2004 and 2005 are $1672?? There the same right? There on version 9 now right? Is that trans any better then the previous versions? Oh another thing too. What exactly goes wrong with the trannys? I know the synchros go right. But does it damage the gears? Are they brass synchros? Would Cryo treating them help? Thanks guys.

 

get the newest 1...thats all i can say. I've seen some handle 600rwhp and others grind at stock...its pretty random, and no one really knows why the synchros are weak.
