Default WB O2 sensor install

I've searched but can't find a good pic of an installed WB O2 senor. I thought I saw one here a few months ago. I just got a LC-1 and would rather not install it twice.

Anybody with a working install on a stock exhaust have a pic?

Also, how did you get the wires through the firewall?

Tx

we ran mine thru the shifter hole, used a wire shroud to allow wire movement without rubbing on the metal.

as for on stock exhaust, you'll have to have a bung welded in. IMO, ditch the stock exhaust, seriously.

I should have said stock header, I have a Borla TD.

I have a bung. I want to know where to mount it. I haven't looked in a while (too cold out) does that plastic cover protect that area? I don't want it getting constantly hit with water and road depris but I don't think there's enough room to move it up.

The shifter hole sounds good for the wires.

If you have stock cats...it's kinda worthless to have a wideband right now, as you cant drill and weld a bung into the stock header without it being a major PITA. otherwise, put it in the test pipes.

+1, you want the WB installed pre-cats and the stockCats would be difficult at best and a header removal and reinstall to moiunt a bung seems crazy and would cost a lot. This would be a good time for aftermarket headers or HF Cats. There is a rubber grommet under the driver's side of the dash that is easy to get through.

Sometimes I amaze myself. I've been reading about this stuff all over and never realized that the WB would be hard to install using stock cats. DOH!!!

Crawford HF cats?

I have a bung installed on a set of Crawford Cats I had in my car. I now have Labree resonated TPs with a bung. The Crawford ones will work great with just enough room pre-cat to install a bung. Doug may even put a bung in for you to order. I know that it is usually best to check clearances with the Cats on the car first to make sure you are mounting in the right place, but Doug may be pretty skilled by now to get it in the right place without it having been on your car.

hopefully not a dumb question.

the Innovate/AEM/PLX/Zeitronix widebands have a narrow band simulator to send to the OEM ECU, and a wideband signal to send to the dash meter.
does that mean you can mount the wideband probe in the OEM location? in otherwords replace the OEM sensor location so that a new bung doesnt have to be welded.

thanks

pp

EDIT - got answer to my second question in another thread
