Default Poll: Should i sell bolt ons for F/I?

Ok so thinking of how much i would love to turbo my car and i had a little idea. If i sold a lot of my stuff i could have enough money to have a huge start on a turbo set-up, plus summer is coming up so ill have a job to make money, plus my bday is in august and there's a little more money too.

Here's what i would sacrafice and approximate values i could get for them:
Exhaust: $600-800 (2 hks carbon/ti mufflers and high flow cats)
Kinetix v4: $200
Sub (IDMAX 1000watts rms): $200
Amp (JL e1800d): $300
Sub box/amp rack (fixed for those of you who know what happened): $200
LCD Tv: 1800 (return at costco)
7" LCD sony deck : $300
modded Xbox (100gb): $200
G-tech Pro: $200
so thats an approximate $4200.

I'd say that's a pretty good start, and if i start selling stuff now maybe i can get it all sold in time for summer.

I'd be hard to part with my exhaust, i kinda felt like i was a pioneer when i designed it myself, but i could always build another one.

The xbox was awesome too, never met anyone with something like it in their car loaded with mp3s, but i have an ipod now and i have another alpine deck chilling in my room that i could hook my ipod up to.

What do you guys think?

I am DYING for F/I

sad thing is, youll spend the money to replace all the performance bolt-on's you sold to go F/I. Keep the performance stuff and sell the bling. Why go F/I and then restrict its performance with stock breathing equipment?

I had great success withbolt-ns, now boosted. Save $$$, sell parts you cant use FI and go that route. Much better, boost on the Z is sick, I wish I woulda done it sooner.

I completely agree 100% with you, however, i can always buy another exhaust system later, and i with a turbo i'd want something more like the kinetix ssv manifold rather than the v4. I'm going to go through with it, i'm already prettty set now after thinking it over last night and this morning.

I read your whole thread about your tnetics install, i think i might try to do it as well heh. I'm actually leaning toward that kit right now, especially because i get 40% off now for signing up with this sponsorship club called team scp.

The exhaust would work with the turbo, but id rather have test pipes than high flow cats, and after having them weld high flow cats into my original helix test pipes id feel like an idiot having them take the high flow cats out again...

EDIT: wow plus since im planning on going turbonetics...my exhaust system would not even work with it...true dual with an x pipe...definately have to sell it.

Plus i just dont like things staying the same for a long time, i like changing things around.

Cant wait to hear about some noew 1/4 times for you Alberto

Team SCP = Sport Compact Pro

You do realize that is a scam right?

Do a search there are several threads about it. I hope you didn't already pay them the 69.99 or what ever it was.

Here are a few of the MANY threads on this scam.

You can search more using different key words.

Basically you paid 94.00 for some of their stickers!

Getting sponsors is VERY VERY hard. If a company is offering to sponsor you, but you have to pay them some sort of a fee you know that something is wrong.

Yeah i think already read all those threads last night, but see, i never actually heard one person say they ever tried to actually order anything from these guys.

I'll see what kind of price quotes they give me for the turbonetics kit, volk ce28n's, and jl audio 10w6v2.
