Default AWD 350z?

Just wondering why doesnt any body make Conversion Kits?

And what do you think a price would be to do this?

and before you flame i did search and i only found 1 thread and every one said its to expensive but since nobody has done it nobody really had valid input on whats to expensive.

Id drop 5 grand easly into AWD for my car.

not worth it, it would make the 350z heavier and the last thing a Z needs is more weight

how much heavyer, people say things but what you said technically was worthless to me(im not insulting you but im saying how i think).

For example is it 10 pounds heavyer or 300 pounds heavyer? thats why your statement was worthless because it wasnt specific enuff. That and if you say the wrong guess on the weight there is probably 30 people waiting to flame you becuase you said incorrect information.

Top secret did it on their "GTR" g35c tt. Even with the added weight, it would be extremely nice on a forced induction Z, as you'd actually be able to utilize all of that low end power and torque.

I'd have to dissagree that the weight would be a large enough issue to dissuade one from doing this. I'll bet that even with the weight, the benefits of AWD would likely produce faster 1/4 mile times.

And as someone else stated, add that to the posibility of FI, and wow!

That being said, it probably would cost over 5 g's, so the cost is likely the biggest obstacle. Besides, people have been going fast with RWD for years, why go through all the trouble.

There is a Best Motoring DVD (the one that discusses the possibilities for the next GT-R) where Zele drops a R-34 tranny and motor into a Z for rally race duty. Car was stripped down to the bone so none of the drivers complained about the weight but they apparently ran the car at Pike's Peak.

RWD>AWD in drag racing. all you need is big(ger) slicks and good quality drivetrain to get traction.

I think the Z now is a quick car with FI and rwd if that thing becomes awd we can easily see a 9 out of a 700 awhp z or something close to that. If i had the money ill do it plus you will be unique among evrybody else and you would put a hurting on basically anycar

Yeah they tested the Silver one on BM, but the motor was all stock RB. It was the AWD and suspension setup they were looking at, which they loved because it handled so naturally.

I think that that may be a viable idea on a 5AT car. Then a G35X or an FX35 could be a donor...

You're 100% right, I didn't look at it that way.

Yeah, if you're drag racing then you may as well stick with the RWD setup. If you were to do the conversion with R34 components then we all know the drivetrain is capable of handling plenty of power.

I'd just build the VQ and go with a TT System if I wanted a quick drag car though. Then of course get yourself some MT's or something for traction.
