chromesilver04, sounds nice. thanks for the clips. your neighbors must love you, huh?
Yes, my neighbors love me :-).. the servers the vids are hosted on are top notch, 14 gigabit connection from 6 different backbone providers... so it should load pretty quickly. I didn't really notice any power increase, it's just the resonator (it IS heavy though.. made a loud thump when it hit the floor at the shop). But I am enjoying the sound.
Well...
I had my resonator removed and have been driving without it for a couple weeks now and if I had it to do over again, I would not have done it. When you first start driving after starting the car it has a really bad raspy buzz around 3000 rpms, but it goes away after about 5 or 10 minutes of driving. After that it sounds ok until you really get on the gas, then it sounds like a buzzing fart can!
There is also a weird bumping, humming noise while driving on the freeway or at a constant speed on the streets. VERY annoying. I am not really as happy with the sound as I was hoping I'd be.
The BIG reason that I don't like it though, is becuase I have felt a dramatic LOSS of power after getting it done! The car feels like a dog now. I am going tomorrow to have it checked to see if there are any leaks around where they welded in the straight pipe which is about the only thing I can think of that would cause the loss in power that I am feeling. I don't see how there could be a power loss since you are replacing a large chamber, with a straight pipe, but there definitely is.
I would recommend to anyone who is thinging about this NOT TO DO IT!
