Default ACT clutch and flywheel on the way in...install Tuesday..

Alright all, Finally made the decision to run the ACT flywheel with my ACT clutch. I ended up getting the ACT Street Disc clutch (517 ft/lb rated) and also ordered up an ACT Streetlite flywheel to go with it. I considered going with the Prolite flywheel but with a turbo was more then willing to sacrifice a little extra power for some better driveablilty. I've driven in the Mossy car with the Prolite and while its completely streetable with this setup I spend more time then I care to in rush hour and knowing how the Prolite felt I look forward to the Streetlite version. Should be installed on the car Tuesday afternoon and pick up the car Wed. I'll let you know how it all goes down...

I have used that combination on a couple cars and I love it. It has always worked great for me. I'll probably run ACT again on the Z.

Subscribing to hear what you think of this combo. Been looking forward to the ACT Flywheels release. Did the ProLite make much noise? What clutch was used with it?

Thanks,
Gary

Well I'll update everyone... I got the combo from Greg at Mossy Performance. I drove his car again this weekend to the Stillen day and am VERY impressed with the Street Disc/Prolite setup. I'm kind of curious what I will think of the Streetlie flywheel now that I have a road trip under my belt on the Prolite. It was honestly one of the most streetable setups I've ever driven. The clutch pedal is definitely more firm then stock (drove his car then mine with stock back to back) but NOT overwhelmingly so. It took about 20 seconds to get used to the ACT setup on his car while driviing on the street. I would HIGHLY recommend this setup. I drove a JWT clutch/flywheel equipped car as well recently. While on par with feel the ACT setup was A LOT LESS noisy then the JWT. The JWT unit uses a aluminum flyhweel and friction plate unlike the ACT which uses a solid Chromoly flywheel. This is one of the things I considered a "must have". Also the JWT clutch system does not include a throwout bearing included which I find odd while the ACT setup I got includes the throwout bearing (another $35 if you buy the JWT), pilot bearing, and everything else you need to install it. I can't wait to get my clutch and flywheel in the car and let everyone know how it feels. Should have a good write up for you on Wed morning when its all installed. I'll take some pics of the ACT clutch and pressure plate tonight as the flywheel is still in transit to me and should be here tomorrow morning. I'll keep everyone posted. And if you need to get your order in for the ACT units now give Greg Vogel a call at Mossy Performance 1-866-55-MOSSY or www.mossyperformance.com He got me a KILLER deal on my setup and is doing the install for me..

No from what Daryl said that rating is 519 ft/lb at the wheels. I'll get the exact cost for you today. I don't remember what the final price was as it was given to me with install costs quoted as well..

I like it so far. I wish I would have gone ahead and gotten the Prolite flywheel as I liked the performance of that unit a lot better. But overall I am quite happy with what I have.

Well I have the ACT street clutch and JWT flywheel as I could not get the Streetlite flywheel in time. My setup is slightly louder then the Street Disc/Prolite setup I drove before. Its not any louder then stock IMO but the all ACT setup was a lot better.
