Question For those with a radiator breather tank

Could you please show us where did you install the breather tank and the hose routing?

Thanks,

Az

Thanks. Could you please explain the routing of the hoses. I can see that you have a one way valve between the breather tank and the overflow tank, why?

Also you have two other hoses, one is connected to the neck of the radiator. and the other one is connected to ????

Thanks,

Az

As explained by GReddy: "Designed originally for racing engines, today’s compact production engines can also benefit from the used of GReddy’s Radiator Bleed Tank. By mounting the tank high up in the engine compartment, you can be assured that of a fully filled system with room for air expansion, thus reducing chances of overheating due to air-lock."

SGP did the install for me so I don't know why the hoses go where they go. The other clear hose go directly under the throttle body and t's in some line that is located there.

It doesn't help keeping air from getting into the system, but it gets it out.

I have this tank also and am wondering. I know (or think I do) that

1 Hose on the bottom goes to the lower radiator hose.
1 Hose on the top goes to the radiator neck.
1 Hose on the top goes to the expansion tank.
Here is where I am not sure

1 Hose on the top goes to ???

Maybe the heater hose with the plug that you are supposed to open when getting the air out of the system??

By the way, I have a Maxima service bulletin that my friend gave me that basically has you make a tank something like this for the service people to get the air out. But it is not as comprehensive as this bubbler tank.

Yeah it could be that way .... its starting to make sense .... if any air bubble is coming out of the engine or the heater hose it will go to the breather tank an then to the overflow tank

How much boost are you running? You may have some headlifting going on there. You may also want to think about SVRs studs to help keep the heads in place.

They help remove air from the cooling system. I'm not sure how effective or necessary they are on the Z, but they do work. My buddy has an rx7 and they have breather tanks from the factory.

Lots of atermarket breather tanks out there. Most have a similar design

at 9psi I don't think it's your heads are lifting. There's either serious air in your system or your radiator is fuked. When I had my stock radiator it was leaking from the seems, but only under boost so I didn't know it was leaking. Maybe your are having the same problems?? Do you have to refill your system often?

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but with all the money you have invested already, I would buy an aftermarket radiator, the breather tank, and SRVT head bolt mod. If you buy all those mods you should be able to retune and boost it up to 16psi or so with no problems. Hit me up and we can meet up some time.

Well I cant buy a radiator until I found one that fits. The turbonetics kit has a pipe that runs in front of the motor and I cant fit fans with the bigger koyo radiator.I have to first find a radiator that fits. So I guess Ill buy the breather tank and the SVRT Bolts first until theirs a way to fit a radiator.

Question,

Where is the bottom hose tot he breather tank connected into the cooling system at?

Also, do you still retain the factory radiator cap or do you actually take the spring out so that it is free flowing into the breather tank at all times?
