SGP Valve Body
i've been thinking it over for the past month or two and i think its time. but i dont like getting anything unless i have some proven numbers to back it up.
does anyone have any info on how much faster the car will shift with this valve body over stock? as in, how much faster then stock will it be in shifting from 1st to 3rd gear, or 1st to 4th gear.
also, how hard is the install for a diy? is it a bolt off/bolt on, or is there oil and a mess of wiring involved??
thanks in advance.

Do a search for a review and video by GurgenPB. He has an excellent review and analysis of the shift speed increase.
I have the Forged Performance vb upgrade and the increase in the quickness and firmness of the shifts is substantial. Hard for me to quantify at this point since I never did a baseline of my stock shifts but it's much much better.

lol, i hope you werent thinking that i was going to "modify" it myself. i was just going to uninstall it send it over to sgp and then reinstall it. i just dont want any nissan dealership in my area to do it because they suck at life let alone working on my car. they've messed up too many times for me to go back to them for anything.
but i will do that search now. thanks roncfpz.

i saw the video and the numbers, but now im not so sure its worth it.
its about a .5 second decrease in shift time from 1st to 3rd. i dont think that'll translate to more then a .2 or .3 faster quarter mile at best. $1k for .2 or .3 isnt cost effective imo. ill probably just go with a stage 2 nitrous kit (50 shot) for $350 and get a .4 to .6 improvement, plus theres no down time.

Its mainly for not burning out your clutchpacks. The way to do that is to shift faster, but there is a limit to what you can do with the stock shifting system.
I think if you dont do something to beef your tranny up you are going to regret having to buy a new one on top of your nitrous.

i've already beefed up the torque converter, so this was the next logical step. but not for $1k and not for a mere .2 to .3
i've been running nitrous for over 2 years without any issues (knock on wood). i've gone as high as a 125rwhp shot right off the line, but now im down to something thats a more streetable, 100 rwhp shot. soon to be 75 stage 1 and 50 stage 2.

btw, my 2 cents on a shift kit (had it on my mustang) - unless you're going to go full race bore, don't bother - it's generally very mild unless fully drilled out. And if you go full race bore, hehe, you better beef the **** up out of the rest of your drivetrain - i've seen lots of people tear their rear-end to shreds because of too much tq and stock parts + shift kit fully bored out
(i had a pi stallion 2800tq cnverter, 4.10s and a transgo fully drilled out....sold my car to somebody just as the transmission was probably abotu to rip out of the car, heh)

I know I am getting one from you after I talked to Ron. In fact he also offered to let me test drive his car before I do my upgrade if I wanted. He is a friend of mine. I am allways in Atlanta so I will just bring my car over for the job.............

The 5AT is a LONG work in progress...I dont have an ETA on it, but once its ready, we'll post it up!
MySunset, a VB does not give you WHP gains, it simply speeds up the shifting, so your clutch packs arent slipping all over the place. It results in a firm and aggressive gear engagement, that will chirp your tires due to the speed in which the transmission shifts. It should improve your 1/4 times at the track as well.
