Exclamation Car won't crank

I drove my car to the gas station because the low fuel light was on after I filled the car up and got in and tried to crank it then it would not start. You could hear the car trying to crank but would not turn over just sat their and listened to it trying to catch. So after a min of turning the key on and off it finally cranked so I just thought maybe my gas was lower than what I thought WRONG! I go home for lunch and when I am ready to leave I get in the car and try to crank it up again and the same thing sits their and tries to crank but will not fully turn over. I know it didn’t need to be jumped off all electricity inside the car was on, I don’t know this is just a guess does anyone think it has something to do with the fuel somewhere ex. pump, lines etc. or what about the timing do you think it's off some how? Does anyone know what this could possibly be? I still have to leave work tonight and hopefully it will not have the same outcome. I hope I have explained in some way you could understand it, thanks.

Weak battery? While everything electrical in the car might have been working, the battery might be weak enough so that it doesn't have full cranking power.

You have an '03 Z, assuming you have the OEM battery, it's getting close to the end of its normal life. Take it to Autozone and get them to test the battery.

Has anyone heard of the the throttle body sensor going out? Could this cause it not to start?

i know its a month later, but i am having the same problem, i have taken out every possible part of the fuel system, i believe that it is something telling the fuel pump to get the correct voltage.

the fuel pump works off the ecu when two different sensors tell it to work properly...

i hate electrical problems

My 04 does this, has from day 3 the alarm went in that morning after it happened the first time on a brand spanking new car, dealer checked couldn't find, said must be the alarm, kind of impossible given the timeline. Still does it quite frequently, and when it does it always takes 3 cranks before it will start, but i have to give it about 10 seconds between each attempt for that to work.

Has anyone else had this issue resolved? If so what causes it??

No it's definitely not the battery causing problem in my 350.

The OEM fuel pump turns on for ~1s when the igntion is turned on to pressurize the system.

Then, once the cam position sensor starts providing feedback the ECU turns the fuel pump back on. If your cam angle sensor is going bad/not working that could be the problem (if it is in fact fuel related).

Are you getting any codes?
