Default Am I taking the right path?

I just recently sold the mustang for the 35th anniv. I have had the car a week and am ready to start on it. I plan on going with a greddy tt setup this winter, but need a little extra power now. I plan on purchasing UR pulleys, Mrev2, crawford plenum, and the jwt popcharger this weekend. I don't want to do the test pipes because they will have to be switched with the turbo setup, right? I want to order the hks exhaust next pay check if it will be ok with the tt setup. Is this the right path for now? Are pnp heads not worth anything until you go FI?

you can use the test pipes with the greddy tt. In fact they are a great mod with the tt system as they will free up back pressure and add power. I would skip the pop charger cause you can't use it with the tt unless you don't mind spending the money now and selling it later. pnp is a costly job. not worth just doing the pnp on it's own.

I say go with the test pipes and keep your cats for if and when you have to get smoged. What is your final horse power goal? Are you planning on building the motor down the line?

I dont have a set goal yet. I live 20 minutes from atco raceway, but i work in a professinal enviroment where i have to drive and meet clients a lot. I want it fast enough but very streetable. I am sure i will get into the engine in about a year once I get another daily driver. I just like to know it's there if needed, I have never owned a stock car. My circle of friend drive SC and bolt on mustangs and now i am the slow one.

I think its great to have a fast car, but im also a firm believer in building up a car the correct way. I'd probably do the mods preparing for the Turbo kit that are somewhat necessary. Such as
Suspension
Wheels N Tires

Then I'd get an exhaust if thats what you really want.

Then go Turbo and buy

Guages
Clutch n Flywheel
Radiator
Oil Cooler
Stoptech Stage 2 or BBK

After all that, you can decide on Aero parts or what not. The brakes are pretty important because you will overpower stock ones and cause them to fade and spend more money replacing them. If you were to purchase Stoptech Stage 2 upgrades for OEM brakes you'll probably be spending the same amount but getting way better braking as you would if you used 2 sets of stock brakes and rotors (IMO).

i will upgrade the brakes once i need a new set (only has 2000 miles now), i am going to do the oil cooler, radiator and guages with the turbo install. my mustang had a full griggs kit on it, because the stock setup sucked. What are the problem areas on the suspension, so i know for later. for now i just need a little pick me up.

I'd say the brakes are the first thing to get done - many NA ppl who track their cars can go through a set of OE pads in less than a day. There's tones of stuff for suspension - it all depends on how much money you have...I opted for hotchkis sways & springs (around $400 for the set). You can also go for coilovers (spring/shock combo), but most sets start around $1K.

MREV2 is a 5/16" spacer AND a modified lower plenum. You wont be able to use this with the Crawford plenum, its one or the other. For now, NA do a nice 2.5" -although id do a 3" true dual exhuast, this will work great later. Wait on test-pipes so you can do some nice 3" TP's with open dumps. Or do a 2.5" testpipe back system, this depends on your power needs. You can do a Clutch/FW now that will work for later. Do a pulley if you want that will also work later. Then maybe look into some wheels, as you'll need more rubber than stock to keep the rear planted even then you'll have trouble.

No it's not, it's just the lower plenum, although on a revup it should only be used with the spacer, but that's extra. I think it was mrev+ that was packaged together like that. It would be interesting to see the results on a revup with just the mrev2 and an aftermarket upper vs mrev2 and the md 5/16" spacer. Similar results I'm sure, but still interesting to see.
