Cost to install..

Next week, I'm getting my Kinetix HFC's, Motordyne 5/16 spacer and MREV+, and UR crank pulley installed by Technosquare. But I have no idea about how much time these take to install - what would be a decent price for install on all of the parts? And how long should it take?

**actually, also: I installed my own popcharger, and I thought that was kinda difficult. Well, not difficult, just took a long time for me. Should I try installing any of these parts myself? I would love to tackle the project but I really don't have much experience with car installations.. at all..**

-cats are a pain to do
-spacer is farly simple
-lower plenum not much harder than the spacer
-crank pulley isn't too hard, but much more than an intake install.

Getting the bolts off from the top of the cats to the bottom of the headers is hard...I used 2 extensions and a swivel coming from the front of the engine to get some of the bolts.
Cats are pretty easy if you have enough room to work. I swapped out one of my cats for one with bungs welded in in about 60 mins, while the cats were burning a$$ hot nontheless! The Motordyne stuff is quite easy, the instructions are excellent. Pulley I dont know about.

Okay, well my main concern is this: What parts do I need to be careful about with leaks? Obviously I always need to be concerned, but where could a big problem happen? And when do I need to use sealants or stuff like that? (I hear you need to use anti-seize on the UR pulley, and I don't even know what they say to use for the spacer. Anything for the mrev or HFC's?)

I'm not very good at this searching thing then, cause looked for a while, couldn't find much. When I installed my popcharger, there were online detailed writeups with pictures for every step of the install. Is there anything like that for these mods?
-MD has good instructions on their website...requires basic tools and a in-lb torque wrench (Many ppl, myself included, did not use a torque wrench for the install, but some have gotten into trouble with overtightening). Just be careful and don't over or under tighten and you'll be good.
-UR pullies come with instructions (also check the service manual). You need to apply anti-seize to the interface of the crank pulley and crank...this allows you to take off the pulley more easily down the road (some have reported that the pulley 'melted' onto the crank and wouldn't come off)
-Cats: a couple long extensions, swivel, and some lube - I spray the bolts with WD-40 the night before and the next day had no problem getting them off.
*All 3 of these have tons of threads...but to find the helpful ones, you'll have to read for awhile.

i wouldn't do all three installs in one day if your not handy with tools. You need to take your time and enjoy while doing it. Have a case of ice cold Heineken in the frige wouldn't hurt. I installed a set of Tokicos struts in my Z in about four hours non-stop before, i know the pain.

It took me most of the day to get the first TP off (driver's side) and 20 minutes to get the second. Get some beer, take your time and enjoy yourself. None of it is too difficult, but takes some time.

Oh, so I need a 22mm socket wrench for the O2 sensors?
And no worries, I wasn't planning on doing these all in one day. I learned from my popcharger install, which after a few back and forth trips to the hardware store for things I completely forgot, took me from about 2pm till 10pm.

You can get a special O2 sensor socket. It's open down one side and the top, with a wrench point off to the side so that you can slip it over the wires and sensor. Otherwise you will have to use an open ended wrench, which I found difficult with the heat sheild flashing in the way.
if you it took you 8 hours to do the popcharger you're best off paying someone to install all the rest. Those mods should cost around $250-$300 to do depending what the shop charges

Haha nah it took 8 hours cause it started raining about 1 hour into it.. so I had to wait for a long time.. and then I didn't realize that part of the popcharger was messed up in shipping so I had to take it all off again..
If only installing the plenum, not the spacer, do I need to use loctite or anything?
