Default When to Dyno?

I just purchased my 350Z 3 weeks ago and am anxious to put the Injen AIC I just ordered on the car. I know I need to wait the 1200 pain staking miles before I really push the car, but wanted to know when a good time to dyno it would be. I want to dyno it before any mods and then as I keep adding, dyno it as I go along. I understand that the more miles the better the dyno results seem, but I wanted to get some feedback. Thanks.

Patience friend! You will want to definitely wait at least 1200 miles before dyno-ing, as the engine is run right up to redline during the process. At the recent Z Club of Texas Dyno Day, regardless of the intake/exhaust mods done, all Z33s dyno-ed from high to low in accord with the total number of miles on the odometer. The highest power was put out by a car with 11K on the odo, and second and third highest numbers were put out by cars with 8.3K on the odo. MT cars put out about 20 rwhp more than AT cars. FWIW.

Thanks for the feedback. Should I just wait to put the Injen CAI until I hit the 1200 miles?

Ideally, you would wait until after break in to dyno stock. Then install CAI and run it another 1000 miles to assure that the ECU is 'adapted' to the new system, then re-dyno. Good luck on your future running.

If it were me, I would wait. Plus, it only took me 11 days to put on the 1200 miles.
