Default Quick question about the AT

I've heard about how the 350Z AT has a "aggressive" mode which it has the best performance. I have a couple of questions about this.

1. How exactly do you make your AT be in this mode, it seems like the transmission will only shift quickly for a while when you push it and once you start driving speed limit again for a bit, it won't respond as fast anymore.

2. Can you make you car always be in this mode so you get the best performance out of your AT

3. If you use the manual mode, does your transmission adapt to the way you drive also, or does it do that only when you're in full auto

Thanks for the help!

never heard of an "agressive" mode. maybe wherever you heard that from was just talking about the sportshift mode, as you are able to drive more aggressively using this mode.

I do know that with a 3.53 final drive, valve-body upgrade, and high-stall torque converter, your a/t becomes really aggressive without adding any hp yet...

I heard when you push the car harder, the AT will adapt to the driver and shift a lot faster isn't that true? It seems like this only lasts for a short amount of time though and once you start driving speed limit again it won't shift as quick anymore. Any input on this?

the transmission is "adaptive"...it is software driven/(fuzzy logic?)...for my fully automatic mode, a 20 minute "thrashing" on the Hwy will do it(shifting with a fully loaded torque converter). It will 'offer" the aggressive **** points from hten on...hower it will revert to a less aggresse mode, if you are not using the available torque.

2. Can you make you car always be in this mode so you get the best performance out of your AT
keep the torque converter loaded

3. If you use the manual mode, does your transmission adapt to the way you drive also, or does it do that only when you're in full auto

yes....again, the key that I have noted is that load on the torque converter triggers the switch....shift low in the torque curve>>>>economy......shift at higher levels3.5K-5.5K>>>see the difference
