Thanks Intrepid. Since it seems to be easy to get at and remove/replace, I think I'll be swapping the old one in when I go to the dealership. Better safe than sorry when dealing with warranty issues. Since warranties are honored differently, it seems, from place to place.

I am impressed with the fact that you actually took your OWN ecu out and then SENT it to JAPAN to further the cause.
Very Impressed.....

update:
my ECU is back in the states, we will now undergo hacking the air fuel map to correctly tune it! its gonna take a while for us to get a decent mapping/final program...
thanks for your emails and comments, i'll keep everyone updated of course! but dont expect something until maybe end of the month!

Wow! This is the first time I'm reading this thread and the excitement building up to your ECU mod is incredible. Being that you have prior experience with the VQ, it sounds to be very promising. Smart not releasing expected gains or results. All rewards come to those who show patience. Good luck!
Thanks for all your efforts. -m

The only downside of this is "technically" the mod is slow. Cuz when you try to drag with someone, you go back in time, instead of forward
But to each his own!

waiting for months now.....
Thank goodness I will be gone this summer! Maybe by the time I get back in September there will be TT and ECU upgrades that are decent. This day to day waiting for upgrades is a bummer. It will be interesting to see how many of us really upgrade to TT etc when it is offered. A lot of money to spend but a lot of fun.
