Default Difficulty in Shifting gears

Hey guys,
For some reason I notice a a reluctance when switching from 1st to 2nd gear. I'm not all too mechanically inclined, therefore I'm not sure what could cause this. I was hoping you guys could help me out. It seems like I have to more or less force it in to 2nd gear rather shift with ease. Thanks in advance.

Yea, I misshifted a couple times in the beginning but I've gotten used to it and I'm pretty sure I'm shifting correctly. I don't hear any grinding sounds so I guess nothings wrong. However, it just seems more notchy than before. Maybe its just in my head

Getting into 6th for me is a pain. I have to kinda pause for like 2-3 seconds before it goes in.

My 2nd gear likes to pop back out, and it's a CD-008 tranny from Jan/Feb this year. I had mine replaced around 25k miles, and it's an '03.

i get that problem with my 06 as well. for 1st to 2nd shifting i just step further down on the clutch and it shifts smoothly. for other gears i can pretty much tap the clutch and shift...

I had the original tranny in an 05 and it was very notchy. 5th gear began to grind and it was replaced under warranty for the 009 revision transmission. This 009 is MUCH better. I dont have to fight the gears to let me switch. Instead, when i want to shift, it feels like it just pops into palce. They definately fixed something because its much smoother.

ARgh... 009's been out at the time I had my tranny replaced. I requested for that one, and they told me I have a brand new '06 tranny... the 008 >.< They said -009 didn't exist.

Yea, I agree this is normal. You have to use a little force into 2nd and sometimes you can hear the car going into gear. Wish they did a better job on the 1st to 2nd gear shift. I usually like to take the 1st to 2nd slower than all the other gears. I give 1st a little gas before I shift and then clutch and pull down slowly. Usually works for me. Just give it a little gas.

BTW throughthefire, if you go to the dealer they will also tell you there is nothing wrong. You'll get used to it.

009 tranny is the 9th revision of the Nissan 6spd Transmission that they are currently putting in when you go in for a transmission replacement. I am not sure what your car has, you would have to look at the tranny VIN number and see
