2007 Infiniti G35 Sport Coupe
The Infiniti G35 coupe remains a standard-bearer in the sports coupe class since its introduction in 2003. For 2007, the standard VQ 3.5-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine produces 275 horsepower and 268 lb-ft of torque, while the G35 Coupe 6MT model generates 293 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque.
The refined performance coupe also features standard High Intensity Discharge (HID) bi-xenon headlights, available Infiniti Navigation system, as well as other luxury and performance options. Also available are a Rear Active Steer package, which includes vehicle-speed-sensitive power steering and 15.1:1 steering gear ratio, and an available Sport-Tuned Suspension Package with 19-inch forged aluminum wheels and Viscous Limited-Slip Differential (VLSD). Standard on the G35 Coupe 6MT are the Viscous Limited Slip Differential and unique front fascia and side sills.
Enhancements to the 2007 G35 Coupe include:

Much of the info has been posted in the G35 section. There's a link to the VQ sound. It's throaty, and it seems to lack the exhaust drone of the Z, FX, etc. - which is a plus for me. C&D previewed the 6MT Sport version, and it is just as fast as an IS350. Too bad it is a pig which is why I'm hesitant about the new coupe. I'm worried about the loss of handling performance vs. the Z in stock form.

The big question is if it can be put into r old cars and will it work right. What do you guys think i like my vq but it qould be nice to have some newer things on it. I guess this will hold some people back from building the old VQ's

dual intake is just bling. u will need to reconfigure the ECU to accept 2 tps, 2 maf signals etc, or like this japs have done already, manipulate the signals to suit. any of the aftermarket units out there will perform as good as this IMO. Exhausts, well aftermarket exhaust = fix.
The intertesting stuff is the CVCT which will give great gains once there is an EMS out there capable of altering it? Motec? This technology is already found on honda's i-vtec and gives great response/gains when tuned for ur setup.

Humm Fast Light off Sensor
Is that not the problem that JWT had with getting the JWT 350Z Kit CARB Certified?

TOKYO (Aug. 22, 2006)--Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., has newly developed two new-generation six-cylinder V-type engines for front-engine, rear-wheel-drive vehicles featuring powerful performance and improved environmental friendliness.
The 3.5L VQ35HR and 2.5L VQ25HR engines will be built at Nissan's Iwaki Plant in Fukushima Prefecture and will be equipped in the all-new Skyline to be released this autumn in Japan, as well as the US where the model is sold as the Infiniti G35.
Featuring newly designed engine blocks and other key components, the engines offer smooth transition to top-in-class level engine speed of 7,500 revolutions per minute drawing upon the "smooth transition" concept of the popular VQ engine, the only engine in the world to appear on Ward's 10-Best Engines list for 12 consecutive years.
The engines achieve a 10% improvement in fuel efficiency compared to vehicles equipped with the existing VQ engine and top-in-class Super Ultra-Low Emission Vehicle level emissions. SU-LEVs have 75% or less nitrogen oxide (NOx) and hydrocarbon (HC) emissions than those stipulated by Japan's 2005 exhaust emission standards.
The letters "HR" in VQ35HR and VQ25HR stand for "high revolution" and "high response."
Nissan began VQ engine production in 1994 and has produced a cumulative total of 5.5 million units as of last fiscal year, ended March 31, 2006.

Looks like bolt-ons are going to give even less gains to me. The engine is really nice, but it already comes with true dual exhaust, equal length exhaust manifolds, split intake with straighter runners... Exhaust and header mods probably won't give as much as the little amount they do now. CAI or pop chargers won't be as effective I think either. The heads could use some porting to edge the intake splitter, but it looks like this engine, even more than the current gen VQ, will need some serious internal work like cams and ECU tuning to make decent N/A power.
I like the new central coolant feed, better than having it run off the side like it does now. The taller deck of the new VQ35 should make stroking easier as I bet the VQ40 block is of the same height. Easy crank and rod swap then. I also like the CVTC solenoids on the front cover rather than on the cam cover. Can't wait to see what the power figure might be when this thing goes into the Z.
