Can't wait to start work on that plenum!

It offers modification potential that wasn't (isn't) readily possible on the ones we have now.

What did you have in mind

By the looks of it, it does not seem like the plenum is meant to come apart. Guess we will know once we get our hands on it.

Plus, i dont see a flat spacer going into this thing either. Look at all the curves in it.

No. Probably no spacers or milling here. I'm thinking it will require a totally new injection molded assembly.

It'll take hefty $$$ to make the tooling though. That's the biggest deterrent. I'll have to experement with prototypes to see if the gains are worth the investment.

I don't think there's any chance this intake is going to fit the current VQ at all. There are too many changes to this HR motor. The block has a taller deck and the cylinder heads are all new. This means the likelyhood of this manifold fitting our heads is minimal. Also, this manifold looks taller than ours so it would probably hit the hood.

ouch.. turbo piping for the new VQHR might have just gotten alot trickier with the limited spacing..

i believe the turbo companies will have to be come creative in running the turbo charge pipes to intercoolers now..

nice picts mike, thanks

The intertesting stuff is the CVCT which will give great gains once there is an EMS out there capable of altering it? Motec? This technology is already found on honda's i-vtec and gives great response/gains when tuned for ur setup.

Or you get the uncut harness, ECU, and engine from a wrecked one once they start droping

You wouldn't be wishing misfortune for the new Z owners would you?

But i do agree, the parts will become available before long and we will be able to see what parts will work and what parts wont.

Anyone know the compression ratio? I bet it's close to 11:1.

http://jimwolftechnology.com/vq35hr/index.htm

Take a look at this information. CLICK FOR VQ35HR FULL INFO PACKET when hitting the JWT link above. Pretty much all of Nissan's Specs on the new motor. If you actually click the link, you can download the entire PDF.

Peace

Your right the 300zx did have two throttle bodies, but only one MAF. This new engine design has 2 MAF. The 300zx was setup like a Y-pipe that merged into 1 MAF.

I guess we will see what the turbo kit designers come up with.
