Question Forged Pistons And Rods

Ok so ive been looking and the cheapest low compression forged pistons and rods are the nismo ones. Now i know for a fact that you can get custom made ones that are cheaper, so are there any cheaper ones out there? What do you guys use? And does anybody actually use the AEBS stroker kit or is there a cheaper stroker kit out there also?

We have the AEBS stroker kit currently running in our Z with a GT42R single turbo. There are cheaper stroker kits but they are not available yet. We will have motor packages with these kits in the near future.

if the cheapest ones you can find are Nismo, you're not looking hard enough.

Eagle makes con-rods, and Arias makes low compression pistons, and the combo is definitely cheaper than Nismo.

Also, the AEBS stroker kit has had some horrible reviews....I would resarch it.

AEBS had some bad reviews because they did not let myself and one other guy know that you have to modify the short block. They actually assembled mine as I didn't want any chance of failure (didn't want be blamed for an $8K motor failing) and didn't fix the problem. So far I have not had any problems. They were definately not the easiest to work with and it took a rediculous amount of time. They did not supply any head gaskets and blamed Cometic for the delay. We had to modify our own gasket to make it work. Other than that, the motor has prefered as I expected and with such a big turbo I bet it will out spool some of the smaller turbo 3.5L's.

This is slightly off subject but Crower claims to have a 4.1 stroker kit. Like to see that on a TT Z. They say it takes 6 to 8 months to get.

I should have a built engine with the Crower 4.15L stroker and APS TT completed in the not too distant future. Reportedly the engine is already built but finishing up on some body details before it is put in the car.

Maybe it's just me, but I flinch everytime I read the words piston/rod/stroker kit in the same sentence with the words cheap/cheaper/cheapest.

Stroker: http://www.z1auto.com/prodmore.asp?m...ne&prodid=2080

current lead time is 6-8 weeks

As for lower priced forged internals, very easy - Eagle rods and Wiesco pistons - total price would be just under $1200
